Axe-Fx III & Liquid Foot+ syx file thread

@warlockII I just found a bug in the LF+ Editor and submitted a ticket to FAMC. The highest Page Button Display that can be selected is 52, so the JR+ and Mini are unable to access the 60th button on Pages.

I've attached my programming that includes a Page for the JR+ but you will have to assign Function 1 to most of the buttons but Function 2 changes the Page Button Display, so you can access Buttons 1-59. Hopefully the bug gets fixed, so you can access 1-60. My programming file isn't finished, so most Block Channel switching doesn't work yet.

I'm going to wait to share my updated Axe-Fx III programming because it's been really time consuming to program and will be a waste of time once FAMC releases their v6 Firmware and Editor because it will sync everything I'm manually having to type into the Editor.

If anyone wants me to program some examples for the Axe-Fx II or III, let me know. I'm also planning to make some video tutorials because it's a lot easier to show how to program something than to try and describe it in words. I just have to find some hopefully free video editing and screen capture software and a way to get better lighting because I get a lot of reflections when trying to make videos of the Axe-Fx and LF+.

FAMC posted this on their Forum yesterday.

https://www.famcmusic.com/forum/firmware-lf-series/v6-00-beta-to-be-released/#post-3735

We have locked in the release features for V6.00 of our LF+ platform. Within the next day or so we will make available a beta release. The existing editor will NOT inform customers of the new version of either the editor or the firmware. You will need to download the editor and firmware from our downloads page. Once we remove V6.x from beta, the older editor (or beta editor) will automatically detect the production releases and inform you.

v6.00 BETA FIRMWARE
-------------------

RECOMMENDED UPGRADE PROCESS from firmware v5.x or below:
1. Use currently installed editor to load firmware V6.00+
2. Close the editor and uninstall.
3. Install V6.00+ of the editor
4. Upon connecting to a LF+ that was updated to V6.x for the first time, the editor should automatically detect such event and install INTERNAL DATA UPDATE.
5. If you did not see the message in #4 above, you can manually do this process. Only do it once. Go to [HARDWARE] menu, and select the option [SPECIAL - UPDATE INTERNAL DATA]
CONGRATULATIONS. You are now on the new v6.x platform for the LF+.

---------------------------
- NOTE TO AXE-FX III USERS:
---------------------------
- Please note that the AXE-FX III engine is automated. This is unlike your probable experience with AXE-FX/AXE-FX II setup in the LF+. All Sync'd effects in an IA-Slot are automated. There is NO reason to enter programming commands. If you are migrating from AXE-FX I/II type devices, then do the following to your programming:
1. For each sync'd IA-Slot, change the SYNC Device to AXE-FX III. Then select the Effect from the Effect List. Notice you can assign Effects, SCENE1-8 control, TAP-TEMPO and TUNER. NO PROGRAMMING is needed once these options are selected.
2. If you change an AXE-FX I/II sync of SCENE1 - SCENE8, remove any midi commands, external sync commands, or grouping of those IA-Slots. The LF+ will handle everything automatically. It will rename those scenes in real-time as well as you change presets. No programming is required from you.
3. No G-Tuner command is needed unless you don't sync an IA-Slot to TUNER from the Effect Drop Down List.
4. Load the sample AXE-FX III programming from the editor's [FILE] menu. This will create a near 100% complete programming template for you to look at and modify as you wish. It will sync and work as is with no further programming.

If anyone could summarize it for me, I used to use LF+12+ for Axe-Fx II. What works and what doesn't with the LF and III right now?

LF+ firmware 5.12 is supposed to be able to sync the Axe-Fx III Tuner and Tap Tempo light but I haven't tested it.

With the Axe-Fx III you have to use 2 MIDI cables and the LF+ power adapter connected to the LF+ because it doesn't send and receive on a 5pin MIDI cable or send power over a 7pin MIDI cable like the Axe-Fx II.

You need to connect a MIDI cable to the Axe-Fx III MIDI IN to the LF+ MIDI OUT and the other cable to the Axe-Fx III MIDI OUT to the LF+ MIDI IN.

If you want to use a 7pin MIDI cable to send and receive MIDI and power the LF+, you will need 2 short MIDI cables, a 7pin MIDI cable and a FAMC Phantom Power Box $28.99 + shipping ( https://www.famcmusic.com/product/phantom-power-box ).

If you know how to solder, you can make a 7pin MIDI cable really cheap for the Axe-Fx III. I made my 7pin MIDI cable for the Axe-Fx II just like the Rocktron RDMH900 ( http://www.rocktron.com/rocktron-midi-cable-5-to-7-pin.html ) which has a 5pin MIDI plug with a power jack at one end and a 7pin MIDI plug at the other. I'm just going to modify it, so it has 2 5pin MIDI plugs with a power jack at one end and a 7pin MIDI plug at the other.

If you're interested in making your own cable, check out the links to the sections in my LF+ Tutorial below. For under $50 you can make 4 20ft cables that will work with an Axe-Fx II and Axe-Fx III. I still need to update it to show how to make a MIDI cable for the Axe-Fx III but it explains the Pinout specs, so you can figure out how to make one.

Brilliant, thanks!

So if the Tuner and Tap Tempo finally works now, I'm guessing most everything works (except some bugs?)? Preset names sync automatically? Hm... might look into getting it to work.

As of LF+ firmware 5.12, only the Axe-Fx III Tuner and Tap Tempo sync and nothing else like Preset Names or IA states. The new firmware 6.xx is supposed to sync everything but no one knows when it will be released.

Hm.. if IA states don't sync yet, I don't think I'll go through the trouble. Hopefully 6.xx soon. Thanks much!
