Axe-Fx III Firmware Version 2.01

Did I in any way push the USB feature into this firmware release based on my post a couple of days ago? If so, I have to say you guys are unbelievable. If my timing was just a coincidence, then I will take it. THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING SUPPORT.

Did any of you experience a big CPU increase going from 2.00 to 2.01?
My main preset jumped from 76 CPU to 85 CPU with a warning light immediately after installing 2.01.

The updates to Axe III are coming quickly ... I haven't checked but I'm curious if the on-line manual is keeping up with the changes? Does anyone know? At some point I'd like to do a very careful read/study of the manual but would like to make sure that I'm reading/studying about the current firmware.

Not here. Here is a comparison of CPU usage for some randomly selected presets:

Code:
        2.00 2.01
--------------------
0: 53.4 53.6
1: 60.8 60.2
39: 55.5 55.0
71: 36.0 36.0
95: 38.9 38.9
116: 44.8 44.7
128: 45.4 45.3
132: 47.6 47.1
134: 41.3 41.1
154: 46.9 46.7
184: 40.7 40.4
218: 44.3 44.2
233: 27.0 27.0
237: 39.8 39.3
270: 36.0 36.0
306: 78.4 77.3
311: 50.2 49.7
351: 45.0 44.9

I've been bouncing back and forth between 2.0 and 2.1. Seems to me 2.1 has slightly less string separation and dynamics/punch on my favorite two patches. I've not tweaked settings and use output compression on both the clean and distorted amps and never had to change anything in previous updates. I'll play with the settings this evening when I get back home.

Just saw a request about the VU meters and BOOM, there it is a week later. Outstanding Cliff and team!!!

Increased size of VU meters and added gain readout in Layout GUI.

Having Auto-Swell in the Volume block is a long-time wish of mine. Very happy with it.

It works great for typical use. Threshold at -65, Attack around 200, Taper Log20.

For much longer swells (> 1000 ms) and more control, the regular Volume mode can still be used, with a pedal or a modifier. You can even attach a pedal to Volume in the Volume mode, without interfering with the Auto-Swell mode.

Hit IGNORE and read it elsewhere. It's just the release notes which can be read independently of the install.

So, it installed okay just now after a restart but what keeps happening now is Axe Edit opens and says Version 1.00.06 or whatever needs 2.01 to run, please update.
And it just stays disconnected, unusable. i downloaded the old 2.00 and its a Syx file.

No idea what to do....

It means you have to install a firmware on your Axe FX III that is 2.01 or newer. But, since the link to 2.01 has just been removed, you'll either have to wait an hour or two until the new 2.02 is released (see first post in this thread) or install an older version of Axe Edit that works with your current 2.0.
