I was hoping you would chime in.

OK So-
MIDI over USB has nothing to do with MIDI ports-
Practically self-evident from the title but I still missed that one-

But I heard someone mentioning how many pins they needed on a MIDI cable to use GarageBand on iPad-
And then also about doing this via Bluetooth.
So now I’m confused more than normally.

I realize your good with you camera kit connection and that it will work fine that way-
and i appreciate you making that clear.
I will be doing that forthwith.

Yeah... Don't confuse the midi bits with the audio bits

I'm not sure how/why anyone would be talking about midi pins related to Garage Band on iPad.

There are Bluetooth wireless midi devices that can communicate from an iOS device to a Fractal device, but that's for controlling the Fractal device and not recording. Midi does not transmit audio.

How could my parents let me go off into the world without having this talk with me???
That’s just sick-
things could have ended badly.

A complete stranger had to tell me
“Don’t get your MIDI bits confused with your AUDIO bits”.

Almost as bad as your first girlfriend having to show you how to fuck.
Which actually wasn’t that bad-
I heard of course.

Seems to be the only way I make progress.

I almost posted a "sorry if you already know this" disclaimer because I didn't want to sound like I was talking down in any way.

Not at all-
As lame as it sounds-
This is an epic “ah-ha” moment which allowed me to accomplish what I wanted and now I can move forward to better things.

MIDI does not transmit AUDIO!!!
Who knew???

Believe it or not my last rig before bailing out and going Fractal was an Eventide rack unit and a Midi controllable 100 watt all-valve
4 channel switching Head. (Satch JVM).
And the endless thousands of dollars of additional gear needed to make it all work seamlessly.


Little wonder I threw in the towel early when I set eyes on the FM3.

Building a Wet/Dry/Wet channel switching guitar rig was an expensive and heartbreaking way to discover that Fractal does
Stereo Effects and channel switching all in one unit.

My heart was in the right place and I was heading in the right direction which led me here-
I just took on way more than I am capable of handling:
(50 years old/ severe tinnitus/ stoned since 1980).

One of my best days in recent memory was when I heard how good the Satch JVM sounded on the FM3.

Anyway-
Very glad it’s all no problem-
