I realize I'm a guitar player so I'm probably supposed to know this already, but what does Cliff specifically mean when he calls the FAS 6160 "more open" than the regular model?
Right here:so being the noob that I am I just updated the firmware so you do you update the banks?

hmmm?? apparently it all worked but I dont see an FAS 6160 or the JVM model?
Fas 6160 isn't in this version of the editor but the jvm is. Do you have the latest editor?
Probably less compressed.
yes I updated all software today (AXe-Edit) too.
I must say so far this thing has been more of a frustration than any fun at all.
Wow, interesting. Somebody should make a few 6160/FAS 6160 comparison clips.
I have to wonder what a more expressive, less fizzy 5150 would sound like. Whatever it is though, I'd imagine it's probably pretty good.
Firmware download link on the support page is broken as it is still pointing to 4p00 it should be pointing to 4p01
I found 4.01 here
http://www.fractalaudio.com/downloads/firmware+presets/axe-fx-2/4.0/axefx2_4p01.zip
Plexi Treble is radically different. It used to be much louder than the surrounding presets and also much brighter.
but ...but ...but I loved that sound!
Can't seem to get back to it with the controls. :-C
