Axe-Fx II Firmware 16.04.1 Released

Apologies, my bad. I can definitely hear that the reverbs sound better :). My assumption was really that not only does there seem to be more models, there also seems to be more variants of the same models and that I assume that for instance the London plate uses the same reverb algorithm as the medium plate?

Of course. There are seven base algorithms:
SPRING,
ROOM,
HALL,
CHAMBER,
PLATE,
STUDIO,
TUNNEL,

All of the plate types use the Plate algorithm.

About to install this bad boy on my II but I wouldn't be able to check any of this in detail till tomorrow night which sucks! Thanks Cliff & team Fractal for dishing out the most awesome product support!

I downloaded the firmware, demo'd the new amp with new cab while holding a screaming baby and fighting off 4 kids in 10 minutes.

Thanks for update and for making it so easy. High quality reverb mode was less than a 10% cpu hit and sounds great.

Shows how much we love our AxeFX. Me, fighting post surgery pain and you fighting off kids so we can get our hands on the AxeFX. :)

I have to say; all of the updates you have done on firmware 16 so far would be all the suggestions I would have listed (so far) I actually was going to post about some of the reverb ones but I thought people would think I'm crazy or say "quit whining, it's good enough" It's literally like you knew what updates to add, much thank you and appreciation, I will for sure be having fun creating some amazing sounds. :)

Whoa, barely got done playing with 16.03 and then I see this, thanks dude!
Just out of curiousity, how many more amp models is there room for in an Axe-Fx II Mark I?

Just downloaded everything and man, it sounds great. The new cab is nice also! Thanks for all you FAS guys do!!

I am about to do the same. Coming from 14.02. Can't resist to try the new reverb. Do I need to do perform the 'update the all amps' procedure?
And will my existing reverb presets change drastically when I update? or don't they change until I change something to the reverb block?

Yes, update all the amps. There's a function for it under Utility -> Presets -> Update Amps All Prsts

I don't think your verbs will change a lot. They will sound better. And even more when using Hi Quality.

Regarding amp updating: most important thing to keep in mind is that the amp update process will reset the Master Volumes.

ok, thanks for the tips. Think I posted in the wrong topic or my post got moved. Trying the reverb right now. Deep Space sounds cool! I was surprised Axe Edit already is 'seeing' the reverb types. I thought they would only appear on the front panel and in the next Axe Edit update. Thanks for the reverb updates!!!!

do I need to have the 'update amps defaults' or 'update amps prsts'? And when you perform the 'update amps' do you also need to reselect the amp? just to be sure.....

axe edit-manage cabs-right click empty user slot-import-select were it will come from. if it is a fractal sys ir. if not it must be converted, cab lab

Ok I have a newbie question with the cab once I download the file where do I save it to on the Axe and how do I get it there??

You can use Fractal Bot. You find the location of the file on your computer through Fractal Bot and then tell it what slot to put it in. I'm a front panel user and don't really use Axe Edit or Cab Lab so can't help with that.

Yes, that’s what I expected. And further to my original reply - I hope this is what you’ve planned for the other effects blocks as well, improve the base algorithms and add more variants of them :playful:. And I’m not for a moment suggesting that there’s anything that’s not already sounding great. I just have a gut feeling that you’ll still manage to pull something special Cliff!
