Axe FX 3 USB output not working for Axe Edit 3 show disconnected

I have an older AXE FX 3 and have never done any updates---I downloaded AXE Edit and it shows disconnected when I plug in an AXE FX 3 USB B to USB A cable. Instead of using USB B to USB C, cable, I tried using my USB B to USB A cable (which is a good cable). Spent 2 hours trying to trouble shoot. I can see the AX FX drivers in Device Manager, under Other Devices and Sound, Video, Game Controllers and they have the yellow triangle with black line, I tried updating and there is no updates---- say the drivers are current. Appreciate any advice to fix this.

I have a first gen Axe III as well. Firmware, Windows USB driver, Axe-Edit are all on latest versions. Over the past month or so, I have noticed that USB connection with Axe-Edit drops out as well. Need to keep rebooting the Axe until the connection works. Sometimes it drops out after.

I check the FASUSBAudio control panel, and when connection with Axe-Edit drops out there is no connection to the Axe - hence, it is not an Axe-Edit issue.

Did you read the link I posted above? Sounds like a bad cable or USB port...
