Axe-Fest Germany 2015 | DZ-212FL-G12K100 Teaser

Morphosis

Official G66 Support
Well, after making night to day, the Axe-Fest 2015 version of the Diezel 2x12 front loaded oversized cabinet is ready .... soon ... ;)

The selection out of hundreds of MPT_idealized and RAW "imperfect" real-Phase MIX-IRs is finished. Beside the Single Mics, the pack will have 40 MPt MIX IRs and 40 RAW MIX IRs per each amp voicing ( x 6 power amp voicings. All in all 792 IRs, D`oh). My 15 personal & subjective most liked ones i put also in a "private stock folder", perhaps this could be a helping starting point for some guys ...

This cabinet stock loaded with Celestions G12-K100 is a bit special, i think. Very "aggressive", deep low-end combined with "cut through" attitude, IMO. Spitfire meets the devil or something. evil ... *lol ...

Soundsample:
  • 10x reamping, only difference: the IR!
  • Axe-Fx II Amp-Sim (FW19beta): Dizzy V4 SLVR (G3) - ALL default, NO (!) tweaks!
  • Guitar: My Music Man Silhouette Special, Bridge HB, Drop D (sorry, I´m not the 7 string djent djent guy...d`oh)
  • A little "room verb" from the DAW
  • All Clips are normalized to -0.3db

For reference i reamped also some tracks with stock factory cabs, so you guys can hopefully a better picture, what the Diezel Cab-Pack will sound like. I picked six of the 80 MIX-IRs from the "I"-voicing (idealized FLAT Amp voicing = MIC+DI) and 4 Axe-Fx II Factory Cabs as reference and anchor point. So, hopefully this will help you to judge the Cab-Pack for yourself... although you will note, that i am really not the right guy for the heavier stuff ... :?

ONE mic position combination = SIX (virtual) power amp voicings:

For a better imagination, what the different power amp voicings do, here also a comparison between the six different voicing for each single- & MIX-IR:

One Mix-IR ( R52_DZ-212_MD441-1+MD441-2_I ) with 6 (virtual) power amp voicings:

(Minute) von links nach rechts:
(0.00) _H: virtual half tube amp voicing
(0.23) _I: Idealized FLAT amp power voicing (100% colorless)
(0.46) _K: virtual konvex amp voicing
(1.09) _P: virtual push amp voicing
(1.32) _S: virtual scoop amp voicing
(1.55) _T: actual tube amp voicing

( something better than notebook or pc speakers recommended ... :) )

For further information about "my" virtual power amp tecnique, please have a look into the about_virtual-power-amp-voicings.pdf, you`ll find at cabIR.eu. The plots (and audible results) are there from the Marshall and differ of course, because the frequency response of the Amp DI is the basis for the different voicings, and this response change of course from cabinet to cabinet... but in general, the voicings follow the same approach.

Hopefully the Cab-Pack will be final ready today or tomorrow...

All the best
Markus
