Axe-Edit III Public Beta

Tuner, Cab block and IR mixer: yes (if 1.08 is installed).

Ive found a few little bugs, but surely they will get sorted out with time. This is evidently just a beta. It will make my life a little easier for sure!

So far on Firmware 1.08, on a Mac with the latest OS, it installed quickly with no issues. I have not run into any actual bugs. I have seen some things that I expected in a Beta release (items not implemented as yet) but no actual bugs. It is much faster than the Axe II Edit, at least from what I see.

Works great here on a MacBook Air. No timeouts or issues. Sure some stuff a bit off or missing, but over all completely usable and fun. Way to go keep up the good coding.

Something I'd like to see is if you make changes to a preset, have it prompt you when you change presets if you want to save. Accidentally hit the preset button instead of scene button and lost some changes.

FYI, anyone using a Magic Mouse on a Mac may be having issues using the right click to select block types as I did, you can Control-click the block
to bring the pop up list.........

Hey Admins, would it make sense to create a "Beta FAQ" thread to help organize new bugs from identified bugs/known issues?

no.

for now, just report a potential bug as a new thread in this forum. people will look at the full list of bugs before posting something and see if it's already been reported.

;)

Thank you so much! I just downloaded and installed in on my iMac. It opened up and looks good. Can't wait to really try it out tonight.

Axe-Edit III has been released as a public beta for Mac OS X and Windows.

Axe-Edit III is now in the public beta phase. This lets you try out the pre-release version while you wait for it to be completed. The software has been tested and is found stable enough to be of value to our customers, but as a beta, the application is incomplete and may contain bugs. Some features are missing, while others are limited. It is strongly recommended that you use Fractal-Bot to back up custom presets or system data prior to using this software.

NOTES:
  1. Axe-Fx III firmware 1.08 is recommended for use with this beta.
    https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/axe-fx-iii-firmware-version-1-08.138132/
Not all blocks have been implemented. Some appear without parameters in the editor pane.
  2. For Windows, you must first install the Axe-Fx III driver:

  3. On Mac, an unknown issue prevents Axe-Edit III from working while Logic is running. Quit Logic and Axe-Edit, reboot your Axe-Fx III, and start Axe-Edit.
yay!
