RELEASE NOTES

VERSION 1.10.00
SEPTEMBER 28, 2021

Current Axe-Fx III Firmware Version: 17.00

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  • Mac version requires OS version 10.7 or newer
  • Windows version requires Windows 7 or newer
  • Minimum firmware version 3.02

NEW IN THIS VERSION

* Support for firmware 17.00
o Updated the IR Capture view and the CAB and IR PLAYER blocks to support FullRes(tm)
o Updated DRIVE layouts for "Valve Screamer VS9" and "Maxoff 808".
o Added "FAS Buttery" to the AMP layouts

* The Manage Presets and Manage Cabs dialogs have been combined into one tabbed dialog. The existing shortcuts and top-level Tools menu items will launch the Manage dialog with the respective tab selected. The Axe-Fx III mark II will show an additional tab for the FullRes bank when running firmware 17.

* Reordered the items in the TOOLS menu.

* Updated the internal Fractal-Bot to version 3.0.10, which adds support for FullRes(tm) IRs.

* Corrected a bug in the Library's "Save" routine in which the latest firmware version was not being updated in the currently selected Library entry.

* Corrected an issue in the Leveling Panel in which the Modifier state of the Out 1 and 2 levels were not being displayed.

* Corrected the display of the ToneMatch block's slot. It was displaying as a zero-based index instead of a one-based index.

* Added FM9 preset import functionality. Axe-Change now includes searching the FM9 presets by selecting "FM9" from the device dropdown.

* Added "All Scenes" submenu to the Channel control's context menu.

* Added Preset+Cab Bundle. A Preset+Cab Bundle contains one preset plus any User Cab Impulse Responses (IRs) used by that preset. Bundles make it easier to share sounds and are easy to export and import. The Preset+Cab Bundle functionality requires firmware 17 or greater.
o To export a Bundle, use the Preset / "Export Preset-Cab Bundle" menu. This will display the "Export Preset+Cab Bundle" dialog. IRs that this preset refers to but does not use are excluded but can be included manually by checking them. Examples include IRs that are muted or channels that are not referred to by any scene. Factory cabs cannot be exported/checked.
o To import a bundle, use the Presets / "Import Preset" menu or drag-and-drop a bundle file onto the editor's main Preset display. This will display the "Import Preset+Cab Bundle" dialog. This dialog unpacks a Preset-Cab Bundle and saves it ready-for-use to your Axe-Fx III. A Preset+Cab Bundle contains one preset plus all of the User Cab impulse Response (IRs) it requires. To proceed, you must select a location to save each of the items within the Bundle. The preset will be updated automatically to refer to the location(s) you selected for the IRs.

Now all standard ultraRes IRs are "green" even after refresh... Are all ultraRes IRs got converted to non-ultraRes? Or is this just a UI bug...?

Edit the CAB block in the editor. Select the Scratchpad in either slot 3 or 4 of the CAB block. Drag and drop and FullRes IR onto the name field (a yellow dotted line will appear where you need to drop the file). The file will import into the selected Scratchpad location.
Thanks for your answer, but I have the same issue with drag and drop. The IR (V2-Mofo-k-sE8-FFL.wav from VALHALLIR) is imported but not as a full res IR (no cpu increase and no aitr sound).
I also tried with the 2 free sample in syx format and the drag and drop is working fine in this case.

Is there a tool to convert IR wav format into syx format ?

And after deleting fullRes IRs and Save, they are still there, i.e. they are not deleted:

I noticed that the manage window was having a few weirdnesses surrounding moving the FullRes IRs and deleting them. I found the one Valhallir one in slot #64 instead of slot #2, probably due to an accident with FractalBot in the beta. Moved it, and it appeared in UFR02, but still appeared in UFR64 until I imported the Batcave IRs over top of UFR63 and 64....

Startup Axe III would cause the Axe III Edit to re-read all presets, which is expected in my case, however, the preset re-reading is quite a bit slower than before. Anyone else noticed this?

Thanks for the upgrade and new feateries.

I must confirm however that communication between computer and AxeFx is much slower than 16.05. Not just preset read on boot…..selecting scenes for example from AxeEdit is super slow to respond….doing it from AxeFx front panel or FC6 is meanwhile normal.

Worth looking into in my opinion.

thanks

Anyone else seeing that triggering the tuner from Axe Edit is not engaging and muting the tuner. Doing it from the front panel of my III is fine.

Had this issue. Did the update after new firmware in axeedit and speed is back to normal.

Very slow on first run after updating axeedit and fw, but after the first couple slow ones mine is back to normal.
