Axe as MIDI Interface!

I use the Axe III as my main audio interface and send Midi notes from my Piano Yamaha CP4 to the Midi IN of the Axe to forward them via USB to my PC to record in Cubase.
Cubase does not recognise the CP4 as an external Instrument.
I would like to use the Axe also as a MIDI Interface.
How can this be solved?
Thank you

How can this be solved?

A bit o code? I know that a USB controller plugged into the DAW can send midi over USB to the AFX3, it's so satisfying and fast, no glitches or lag, is there not an internal connection in the AFX3 between the midi in jacks and the USB io? I'd think they all talk to a central controller or something...

GTFO, how was the latency? Most drum module USB io is at least 7ish ms...

Latency was low enough with the FAS ASIO drivers on my Windows machine that I was perfectly comfortable playing drums though it. I can't recall the exact numbers but I'd imagine between 5-7ms roundtrip and it was rock solid for live use. The Axe-FX is a swiss army knife like that.

From what I understand the III has RME-class latency which is exciting. Hopinf to upgrade in the next few months.
