Ax8 Midi tempo changequestion

I can send tempo changes from my iPad to the AX8 using the USB connection. Does anyone know if this change could be mirrored in the Midi out to send the tempo setting to another device?

There is a setting under SETUP > I/O > MIDI for enabling MIDI Thru, but it only works for signals coming to the MIDI In port. The AX8 doesn't have a "USB Adapter Mode" like the Axe-Fx II, to translate signals between USB MIDI and the MIDI ports.

The AX8 cannot transmit MIDI beat clock, aka tempo.

You reminded me of a distant past when I would use an eMagic AMT8 to receive MIDI clock on on port and re-broadcast it to 8 ports.
