Not necessarily. The two products do not need to keep the firmware version number in lockstep. The 3.03 firmware addresses some bug fixes that we AX8 users have run into.

I imagine they'll be similar in version, especially major version (X.xx). But the minor / build version does not need to be kept the same. In fact, it'd likely be pretty hard to keep them exactly sync'd up over long term.
 
AX8 3.03 is just bug fixes for 3.02, nothing new a far as the modeling and nothing that is applicable to the AxeFX.
