AX8 control FM3 over midi

My place in the fm3 queue is coming up and trying to decide whether to bother with it. Is this possible?......need more than three switches and love the ax8 layout? Can also keep all of my AX8 gigs untouched? Could the AX8 be programmed to make presets, scenes, channels, fx tuner and tap. tempo available as switches? Apologies if this has been asked before.

Also there was talk of 'other Ares based products' at one point....is an 'fm3' with more switches worth waiting for

I just ordered the FM3 and it is now in the shipping process. Once I get it I plan on hooking up my FX8 via midi to say have 4 channels and 4 toggles for the effects. I'll post what I did to make it happen. Pg#115 has the midi controls that the FM3 needs so I thinking this should all be possible. Note I currently use the FX8 to control a Kemper with no issues.

Like you I come from the AX8. Using just the 3 switches on the FM3 took too much looking down at my feet and tap dancing.
I've fixed that with this setup.
I still have my AX8 but FM3 is better all around, just takes some messing with to fit your particular needs.

Thanks man...better all round due to sound? I’m not interested in the recording side of the FM3. Also the external switches that you have attached, are they just latching or do the have press and hold functions. Thanks for your time dude!
