Yea, I am guessing they called it FW 6 was because they are not supporting the Mark I and Mark II now (I see a lot of debate on this topic too), but for the AX8 it might end up being 5.02
Asking will not accelerate the process. In before the close...... seems we are no longer allowed to ask for FW updates for AX8.

this will never change.
Optimism is healthy, but I believe it would take a instantaneous psychic firmware connection between @FractalAudio, who creates the initial changes, and @joe rogers , whose team interprets and implements them for a unit which is intrinsically different.(geez, that's a lot of "ins")It will... i feel it!!

Do we know the size of the boot ROM in AX8?Sadly, these folks are fearing for the future of their upgradabilty of their units . AX8 owners have no such fear, they just must accept the fact that updates for their boxes will come AFTER changes are made by Cliff for XL..this will never change.
we don't know the size but look at how many years the MK1/2 guys got updates and we don't even have the option to run older FW (seems like FAS realized better not even give us the choice) We are only a few updates in. We should be good to go for a whileDo we know the size of the boot ROM in AX8?

It's big enough for many many years to come of FW updates.Do we know the size of the boot ROM in AX8?
But really its pretty annoying that this has been the main topic in many sections of the forum for months now.
the versioning seems odd, looks like every update that adds features gets a ++ to the version number and then any update that addresses bug fixes gets a decimal in which case it makes sense
