Audley Freed Tone

I am looking to capture the Audley Freed tone from the Cry of Love Brother CD. I have read that he may have used a 100-watt Marshall JMP Super Lead. I love his tone. It looks like he uses Matchless and Germino now. Any idea's on how to get close to the Cry of Love Audley tone?

He had a JB Jr in the bridge of his strat for a lot of that...100 watt JMP is right if I recall, not sure on cab.

I agree with Southernshred.

A band I was working with back in the 90's opened for Cry of Love in a club in NC. From what I remember just an old Marshall and matching bottom cab. I'd say keep it simple and don't over think it.

I saw that too...Heck, next time I see him I'll ask him. I run into him occasionally here in ATL or in Nashville.

Pretty sure he just had Texas Specials in the neck and middle and JB Jr in the bridge...TS9 for the leads

So what amp in the AX8 list would be close to a 1973 Marshall super lead?

Here is my attempt. Using a 2013 American Deluxe sounds good to me. Pedal for fills/solo.
