Audeze LCD-2 user thoughts

I am thinking of getting the Audeze LCD-2 headphones.
At home I like to use headphones.
Luke raves about them, you can see that in his signature.
As they are very expensive I wanted to hear user thoughts good and bad.

Buy them from headroom.com and you get 30 days to return them, form your own opinion. I had no idea if I was going to keep mine when I initially received them. Over on Gearslutz there are many topics on them and many consider them the best of the best. It takes about 50 hours of break in for them to open up, so I suggest running them all day at low volume when you are at work to speed it along so you can really hear them. They are unforgiving, so be prepared to rebuild your patches from the ground up. I would buy them again.
 
Thanks Luke, do they handle the bass well with out buzzing at reasonable volumes.
Do you need a pre amp?
