Assigning Exp. Pedal to ONLY Volume block on Scene 1 and ONLY to Wah block on Scene 2?

I'm not at my Axe FX computer right now so I can't test, but was curious about expression pedal assignment. I have one expression pedal and would like to use only one expression pedal to keep my pedalboard light and compact.

Right now, I have a preset that has Exp Pedal 1 assigned to a Volume block to fade between a clean and a distortion sound. Toe pressed down (127) is distortion, heel pressed down (0) is clean. This is what I have in Scene 1. Going to Scene 2 activates my lead which bypasses the volume blocks and the clean amp and the expression controls nothing.

My question - Is it possible to have a Wah block only be active when Scene 2 is selected and only have the Wah turn on when I move it? (I think the answer here is Auto-Engage: Fast SPD rather than Auto-Engage: Fast POS) I would not want the Wah block to activate ever in Scene 1 since I'm using my exp. pedal to control the volume blocks.

Hope this all makes sense. My end goal here is to have a wah available whenever I'm using my lead patch, but not available when on my rhythm patch.

In one of my pressets I have:

scene 1, exp 1 routed to delay w/volume block 1 on (other 2 bypassed)
scene 2, exp 1 routed to wah w/volume block 2 on (other 2 bypassed)
scene 3, exp 1 routed to volume (for steel guitar type swells), w/volume block 3 on (other 2 bypassed)

Here's how I set it up on the grid:

Be sure to set the volume blocks bypass to mute.

Interesting approach! I see how that works and could work for me. I'm hoping there's a more elegant solution, though.

Brian's method works but there's an easier approach using scenes. Put VOL and Wah in a single column. Set Wah-X to auto-engage. In the scene without Wah, set Wah to Y and turn Level all the way down.

Yes, but not if you run them in series and use auto-engage, with any auto-engage setting. on the wah block. Run them in parallel instead and burn another VOL block to mute the wah path. Like this:

Here's the preset with scene 1 and 2 set up: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jdnkqutwhyadzpq/[iaresee] VOL-WAH Example.syx?dl=0

Edit: @yek's way is even better. Doesn't need a burned VOL block.

Here's an updated preset that uses @yek's method: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pawidr6dgr13jgz/[iaresee] VOL-WAH Example (yek).syx?dl=0

same thing i'm doing, just that I have exp 1 setup to do 3 different things.

Thanks for the quick help everyone! I will try these all out when I get the chance, and keep an eye on this thread if more solutions come along.

I haven't looked at the Dropbox files yet, but if they are the same Preset that's in the screenshots, you may want to connect the Drive block to the Amp. Looks like there won't be any sound. :)

I'm sure you can handle that. I threw it together as an example for you.
