Anyway to use AX8 to change patches and Volume on external devices?

Is it posible to hook up the AX8 using it's MIDI output jack and send program changes, volume control, maybe sustain, and things like that to an external MIDI device?
 
It only sends program changes per preset and per scene; no CC or note messages and messages are not assignable to otherwise empty footswitch assignments.

Edit:volume, pitch bend, and other parameter-type messages are usually through Continous Controller (CC) messages. So these are not natively supported.

It is possible to use a 3rd party midi translator of some sort to convert program changes (PC) to CC.
