Any wireless headphone users?

I had contemplated getting a set of wireless Sennheiser headphones. The 220's have been discontinued but you can still get them. Wondered if anyone was using any of the 220's or 180's or any other brand or model.

Tired of rolling over cords. Will be for generic listening, jamming and rough mixing.

I use a pair of the Sony MDR-RF6500 Wireless Headphones, and your right they are quite an improvement over corded phones.

I use a pair of Sennheiser, simply because I can not cope with the cable while playing.

However, even though they generally sound good, the Sennheisers have some kind of built in compression (maybe all wireless headphones do?) and it drives me nuts. It messes with my dynamics and drives me crazy, especially when I use them to practice while playing along with an audio track (so they essentially put out an mp3 recording *and* my Axe-fx output). Super pratical setup, but the compression kills it :(

Does anyone know if it's possible to get rid of / turn off that silly compression on the Sennheisers? It really ruins the entire experience (even though I live with it because for me a cable is a non-starter!)

Mine are the RS126 model, so maybe the 220's don't have that problem? But I'd hate to spend that much and find that I can't stand the compression...

Also note: every time I was lazy and allowed myself to tweak a preset while using the headphones, I regretted it bitterly. Do not tweak using headphones, period! Tweak with your stage monitor, PA system, or near-fields, but not with headphones.

Dpoirier - do you mean the RS120? That uses FM rather than digital signals hence is compressed to FM quality. Rs220 and rs180 use digital technology.

I have a (bass playing) friend, who bought, and returned the RS180 because of the mentioned compression. The RS220 does not seem to have that, judging from the specifications.
