Another salvo in the tone wood debate...

Got to love the analytical types when they study something as subjective as music and a musician’s inspiration with an instrument, which often develops over time. I’m glad they could turn centuries of instrument construction on its ear with such an in depth, lengthy, and thorough study.

This is why I play carbon fiber acoustics because all the matters is that it sounds good.

I'd play carbon fiber electrics if they weren't so rare/incredibly expensive.

To me, the structural element of wood is a pain the butt because of how it's affected by humidity and temperature.

I've had carbon fiber acoustics for about 4 yrs now and have never ever had to adjust anything on them. I just change strings.

Some companies, like Emerald, can combine carbon fiber with veneers to get the best of both worlds like this example, which is actually mine (and I love it).

This study has been going on in Europe for a couple of years now.
The aim is to find out whether local woods can be used in stead of tropical woods.
Here they came to the conclusion that there is a difference in sound but they couldn't say which type of wood sounded better.
