Axe-Master
Since I'm not in town most weekends, I'm not a full time player at my church, but I do get scheduled whenever I'm availble. This weekend I gave the usual #1 guy a break. He plays (typically) a White Falcon into a very nice boutique board into a hardwired AC30. Gets great, great tones out of it. I checked in with the sound guy before run-through/line check and told him I'd be going direct and sending him line level signal...and for him to let me know if he needed any tweaks on my end. He used to travel with A level artists running FOH in arenas/stadiums etc. After rehearsal I went to him and asked if he needed anything on my end and he told me that he usually has to do a lot of corrective eq for the other guy, but as we played he found himself removing more and more until my channel was totally flat. Said it was one of the best mix-ready tones he's ever worked with.
