Amp sim requests

It'd be a great addition.

Cliff should be given support and space too for it all to happen.
I know it's not a one day job.

The new Euro2 model sounds a lot more like the Legacy I've heard than before. Anyway it would be nice to have it.

My wishes:

ENGL Savage 120 Lead Channel and maybe Crunch 2
Why? It's the go-to amplifier for 90% of the 90's power metal bands. Some examples:
- Angra - Angels Cry - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNBDVQkCCxk
- Hammerfall - Legacy of Kings - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uY7f8zNqAg
- Gamma Ray - Power plant - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBTUzvzqVvo
- Blind Guardian - Nightfall on Middle Earth (Ok they use the poweball nowadays, but their old stuff was the Savage) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UH2m7fFJI0E

Random user clip - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d97OWs7OYDk
Look at all that sweet upper mids and pick attack definition - I just LOVE the tone.

Here are the schematics: http://alexmreis.com/mp3/engl-savage-12 ... ematic.pdf

I'll be moving to Europe next year and am willing to freaking BUY a Savage head and send it over to Cliff if need be.

+100 on this.

It's also on every Primal Fear album, Dream Evil, Mystic Prophecy...you get the idea.

It appears to me that the amp sim requests are divided, very roughly, into three areas:
1 - Amp's that have been used on a multitude of influential "general music" albums - mostly low to medium gain, artists mostly well known to the general public.
2 - Amp's that have been used on "guitar head" specific albums - mostly very high gain, very saturated, artists very likely unknown to the general public.
3 - "My fave sound", which may be from either of the above or something that only a tiny, tiny percentage of guitarists, let alone the general public, has ever heard of.

As such, I think one (and possibly not important at all - I don't know Cliff personally) thing that Cliff needs to address is what his future market will, or should, be & how much disposable income they have.

Not wishing to start a flame war - it's just an observation.

Over,
Bob.

Another Orange request here :) That's the main one missing for me. The other ones that jump to mind are Badcat or other Diezel models. Oh, and some other bass amps!!

Speaking of Dream Evil, just found out that In Flames' Clayman is also the Savage. I just recently (yes I'm totally late) discovered In Flames and am addicted to the Clayman rhythm sound.

+1000 on the Savage once more.

I don't think Clayman is a savage 120. I remember it having something to do with a Marshall valvestate, and sending the preamp out into the front input (not the FX return) of another amp. Don't remember the details. Never chased that tone. Live around the time of that tour, they were using ESP vipers into 5150s.

Evergrey has used a Savage 120 for their most recent album, and I think (but not 100%) that it was also used on MMA.

Sup?
Actually,, that was Alex saying that,,,it wouldn't let me do the quadruple Quote with my post so I had to remove the Quote tags

but somewhere, I do have some pics of In Flames in the studio with a Savage120

More bass amps would be a nice touch. More everything would be a nice touch! I'm definitely feeling the Savage 120 suggestion. I'd still love to see a VHT/Fryette UL, too. But if no one has schematics and an amp to lend to Cliff, I suppose it won't happen.

Not to nitpick (well, that's exactly what I'm doing ), but I believe Nightfall in Middle-Earth was actually an ENGL Straight (Andre) and a Dual Rectifier (Marcus). In the studio, they've also used Marshall stuff (I think it was a DSL or TSL), and I recall on ANATO they even used a POD occasionally too! :| Dunno what they used on ATITM. I think before Nightfall they were both using the ENGL Straights, except for the first one or maybe two albums. Don't remember what Battalions was... I vaguely recall one of them owned a JCM800 or something back then.

All of that info came from Marcus himself, although it was quite a few years ago so I might have mixed some things up.

VHT/Fryette Pittbull Ultra Lead
Diezel Herbert

Why...of course this is my opinion but for me they are the best high gain amps on the market today.
They have a lot of definition on the "hi gain" settings and fantastic punchy cleans.
They are the perfect mix between Mesa and Marshall.

I hope that this two amps will be available...they are the only ones that I will exchange for the Axe Fx

I'm amazed no one mentioned Krank yet. Although the Savage 120 is my #1 request, I'd love to have a Krank Revolution model in the AxeFX as well, with their unique MID contour control modeled as well. +1 on the VHT Pitbull, they're awesome sounding.

As for Blind Guardian, you definetly know a lot more than I do DNW. I actually assumed it was the Savage 120 in the early days from seeing the ENGL logo in the CD covers. Kinda hard to find info on their gear.

Let's hope Cliff pushes a great new hi-gain model to us before Christmas :D (As if V9.0 wasn't enough of a gift haha)

Krank are hit or miss. The models they give to their endorsers are pretty great sounding, but the models they sold for retail.. were crap. At least until recently. I believe a year or two ago, when they made the switch to using KT88 power section, they also beefed up the transformers.

They're kind of a one trick pony, I believe. They're great for deathcore and that kind of stuff, but they appear to be too grainy for a lot of people.
