I've had my Axe-FX since 2012 and have never fully understood the reasons for resetting the amp blocks after loading new firmware. This is troubling to me, as I have a good number of patches that may require amp block resets. So, some questions:
- What is the impact of not resetting an amp block after a firmware load?
- The simplest way to reset an amp block appears to be: a) Front Panel - double press bypass when editing the amp block - correct? And from Axe-Edit, simply change the amp to a different type, and then back - again right?
- What about the 'RESET ALL AMPS TO DEFAULT PARAMETERS' in the Utility menu?
- It looks like resetting an amp block scrubs some of your parameters while keeping others? Specifically basic treble/middle/bass seems to remain okay, but most of the amp's advanced parameters are reset (SAG, EQ, etc.). Does anyone know what gets preserved?
- Is there a 'best practice' for when and how to perform these resets, hopefully for all presets? There's got to be a better way than tweaking each preset...
- How does a reset impact global blocks of amps you may have stored?
