I'll keep it short.
I’ve got my favorite real amps and never really "needed" amp modeling — just used it now and then for rehearsals or smaller gigs. For years I ran an FM3 for effects only in the loop of my amp. It was great, but something was always missing in the feel, the sound… couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
Now I tried the VP4, and there it was — that pristine clarity and depth I’d been looking for. Even in 4CM it sounds better than my analog board. No noise, no hum, just pure inspiration. It's a keeper for sure. The FM3 is still a fantastic unit but paired with a real amp, the VP4 is on another level and worth each penny.
