Acoustic IR ( mix level )

Hi guys. Is it possible to insert an Acoustic IR file and adjust the mix for it. I don't want my IR to be at 100%. I would use it at about 20-25% just to "kill" the sound of the piezo. I remember that I could do it on Helix, but I can't find how to do it on FM9.

Yes, you can adjust the mix to whatever % you want. I use maybe 50% at most.
It's a control in the cab block.

Put the Totally Flat IR (last factory cab) in the other cab slot and then mix them to taste using the cab level controls.

I used to do the same thing on the helix. Fractal doesn't have a simple mix knob on the cab block unfortunately. There are workarounds though.
What @mr_fender said is one option but it requires you to still adjust the levels of each IR independently.

This is the solution I came up with: Load your acoustic IR in one slot and the Totally flat IR in the other. Equalize their volume levels and then pan them hard left and hard right. Then, after cab block, I like to use the Tube preamp in the amp block. Make sure the input setting of the amp block is set to sum l+r. Now the balance control in the cab block functions like a mix knob.

The total cab mix in the cab block is normalized, so you only need to adjust one cab's level to make a difference, usually the quieter of the two. The cab level controls are relative to each other. It's the difference between that matters. Leave the Totally Flat IR at 0 dB and turn the acoustic IR down to taste.

So does adjusting the level of the other IR effectively do the something I described?

The other benefit of the way I described is that the balance knob behaves just like a mix knob would; center is 50/50, more towards the left is one IR, towards the right is the other.

@Seven2Eleven i think you have a cool suggestion, especially for mixing IR's that are different in level (and first make them even by using the Level knobs).
It needs a specific way of setup but yeah, cool!

With only 2 IR's there's not really any need to adjust both cab's levels. The controls are relative to each other and it's the difference between them that determines the final mix. Cab 1 at 0 dB and Cab 2 at -5 dB will sound exactly the same as Cab 1 at -7 dB and Cab 2 at -12 dB. The difference between them is 5 dB in both cases. Setting both cabs to 0dB will sound the same as setting both cabs to -20 dB since the mix is normalized.

Use the Cab block Air control, that mixes in the dry signal. I use this with acoustic body images for acoustic guitar and mandolin through FM9.
