Acoustic Guitar

Mohi

Experienced
Well as the title says, I'd like to purchase an acoustic guitar, on the 1000 € / € new or mint used condition, top price. It would be for general purpose, nothing really specialised, so from pop to rock and Christmas carols in between.

I am considering dreadnought as my shape of choice, possible with a pickup, despite not being something I really use now very much ( I own a cheap Ibanez AEG10) I do not mind not having a cutaway, not gonna shred the high frets. Occasionally would play some fingerpicking, so a wider nut could be interesting. I do not play live so I do not need a lot of sound projection, but my Ibanez sounds a bit muddy to me, maybe it is because it is quite small and mahogany.

Does anybody have any experience with guitars like that (very wide) characteristics? I could ask in other gear forums but the "big" ones always scare me a bit for the amount of apparently non qualified opinions (people talking about gear they did never touch)

Thanks!

I absolutely LOVE my Seagull Artist Mosaic. It has an solid cedar top, solid mahogany back and sides, ebony board and bridge. It’s an amazing instrument for me, especially for the used price I got it at! The nut on mine is wider, they may have changed that more recently though, so you’d want to check the specs. But if you find a Seagull Artist Mosaic, I highly recommend giving it a try.

I love my Taylor 214ce. I remember testing it against the 314ce abs while that was a great guitar it didn’t feel worth the almost double price of the 214ce. 214ce goes for about $1,000 so that’s pretty close to your budget.

Thanks guys, I'll put these in a comparison list, unfortunately here in Germany all shops are closed so no chance to try them and seems it won't change soon. Guess I ca always take the risk and if not like it, return the guitar.

I have a Yamaha A3R. Sounds and plays good and would seem to check a lot of your boxes. Solid Rosewood back and sides. It's tone is warm and balanced, closer to Martin than Taylor. Great on board electronics. Rated as one of best under $1k.

I'd try the guitar section of the site lol.

Ive come to learn i prefer parlour size acoustics. I tried some taylor gs mini's but left with a martin 00lx1.
