Wish Ability to print all settings in a preset

I know I have brought this up before in other posts but I really miss AxeFxReporter and wish Axe-Edit had the ability to print all settings in a preset to a file like txt, pdf or html. It would be nice if there was an option to print/save the whole preset or be able to select an individual Block. I like being able to copy and compare settings to see how they have changed and evolved. This is also very helpful when having to reset blocks after Firmware updates like the Amp Block or bugs like the MultiDelay Block in Firmware 13.

I currently have to write down every setting into a spreadsheet but it's very time consuming because I'm Dyslexic and the colors of the Axe-Fx II screen and Axe-Edit make it even more difficult.

Here is an example post where this function would be very useful:

What?!??! This phenomenal tool doesn't work with the new firmware?!?

That is a huge disappointment. One of my favorite tools! I can sympathize with CyberFerret for not having time, and I hope he eventually finds some bandwidth for it. CyberFerret, if you're listening in, your Axe-pad page seems to be down...

Bump... just in case the author of AxeFxReporter happens to notice that we're desperate for this wonderful tool to be brought back to life...

;-)

I think my wish has been granted. I've been trying to learn all the Axe-Edit shortcuts and accidentally hit CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + Export button instead of CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + X and it saved a csv (Comma-separated values) file that can be opened as a spreadsheet and has all my preset settings. I formatted the file in Microsoft Excel 2013 to the way I wanted it to look and did an export to PDF. Not sure why FAS hasn't shared this feature because it doesn't expose their top secret MIDI Spec.

Here are my files:

Okay, this is insanely awesome... Hope it's just been hiding as under development! Too late for me to try tonight but game on tomorrow!

Woah, hold on a minute... what on earth is an "export button" ?!?!? Is this a Mac thing?

I use the Windows version of Axe-Edit and the Export button is in the upper right corner to the right of the Save and Snapshot buttons. When you hit the Export button or use the shortcut CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + X Axe-Edit will save your preset as a syx (Sysex) file, so you can keep a copy or share it but if you press CTRL + SHIFT + ALT with your fingers and at the same time press the Export button with your mouse or touchpad, Axe-Edit will save a csv (Comma-separated values) file that can be opened as a spreadsheet. If you don't have Microsoft Excel, you can install OpenOffice for free on Windows or Mac OS X here ( https://www.openoffice.org ) and it includes a spreadsheet program called Calc.

I tried it with my MacBook and no such love. :-(
Tried a bunch of different key combos, but always exports as .syx
Any other Mac users have success?

This worked for me. Win 7 & Excel 2010. It's not instantly useable, but I can see some potential with this capability.
Thanks, man!

Sorry I can't help because I don't use a Mac and the Axe-Edit 3.0.12 manual doesn't show Mac shortcuts correctly. I just looked at the Axe-Edit 3.0.3 manual and it says the Export shortcut for Mac is ⌃ + ⇧ + ⌘ + X so you can try ⌃ + ⇧ + ⌘ + Export button

This must be undocumented? Can't find it in the manual: CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + Export Button HUGE help for me. And sadly, AxeReporter can't read XL presets at all. But, this helps to see what the heck my settings are in one shot instead of screen shots back and forth! Thanks GMB!

This really is awesome, works as advertised but haven't had a chance to validate contents of csv but huge missing link to have!

Awesome find, people with axe fx xl presets can now share settings with fx II users

or have I missed the mark ????

cheers

The only thing I think it's missing is the Modifier settings but it's still useful for manually transferring settings from a Mark I/II to an XL or XL+. Not sure why FAS has kept this a secret bc it seems harmless.
