The pitch block has too much latency for me when I use it to drop the tune
This is my only wish. Otherwise the axe fx gives me way more than I use. But I for sure could use the pitch block to at least work as well as the Digitech drop pedal.
Yes, agree this is the only thing IMHO that the Axe II could improve on
My Bass player pushes a button on his Kemper
My Singer stomps on his Digitech Drop-Tune
I change guitars
Out of curiosity: how many people have tried other solutions for an extended period of time and are happy with it? Because the latency is in the nature of pitch shifting. It's impossible to get the latter without the former.
I feel your pain. I have the idea of just getting two drop pedals and setting 1 to Eb and 1 to D. But then I think dam do I really want to spend $500 doing this. Because the pedals are like 175 each. Plus a pedal power and a new pedal board etc....I just wish I could drop two pitch blocks in my patches and boom done. Maybe some day.
... Why would you need two when you can change the settings between songs?
It's just faster to have one set to 1/2 and one set to a whole step. I'm sure I could just bend over and change it but I'd rather it just be faster. To me I'd spend the extra cash for the speed.
The most accurate tool for drop tuning.
I have a morpheus and i wonder about using it or the axe for drop...having to put back a pedal and a power outlet on my pedalboard is troublesome and there will be artifacts anyway...I'm really doubtfull
I quite like changing guitars for different tunings. I would find it boring having to play a whole gig with the same guitar. On the other hand, it would be helpful to have the option in case it would be necessary.
Can you please reply to my question?
The answer was yes
Changing guitars is fine and with out a doubt the best option. Only reason I don't want to do that is we play some stuff in D and it's a pain in the ass to set up a guitar just to play a couple songs in D. If we had a better option within the AXE that would be be great. Maybe at some point it will happen when Cliff has the extra time to spend on it. I doubt it's much of priority though.
You can try this within the Axe-Fx:
A MIDI controller would be even faster though. One stop instead of two.
I'm not much of a midi guy, so my guess would be that instead of two drop pedals on stage you have midi pedal that controls them?
