Sometimes a tone you dig just lands in your lap. Funnily enough I was dialing in a tone for the 80s pop tune "867-5309" and the mind went to Alice In Chains for a second and I lost a half-hour recalling AIC riffs. Just rolling down the volume knob a bit worked pretty well for the "Bleed The Freak" intro then simply roll it up for the chorus. This is using the AC-20 12AX7 Treble model.
I think Jerry did use an AC30 for recordings at times, though not sure if he used them alone like this. Anyway, not trying to be exact, just thought it was quite fun to land on.

I love Alice in Chains. You could say there's a reason I use the HBE100 model a lot for guitar ;-)
