80's hero's preset bundle interest?

Ok Now I am all In! Do I send you a track of me playing on a file (i.e. Pro Tools?). Please give the exact specifics on how you want it. Thank you so much Danny!

I'll create a video telling all the specifics so it will be easier to understand. Until then, this is what I need from anyone interested.

If you can find isolated clips of your guitar hero playing the sound you want all by him/herself, this is huge and will help us get super close to nailing the tone spot on. I only need 10 seconds. You can find a Youtube video, get a wave file or high quality 320kb mp3...whatever works best. If you use Youtube, specify the time in the video where you want me to listen. Make sure the video or wave/mp3 you supply of your hero is a good representation of the tone because I'm going to rip it right off the file.

From there, I need you to play the stuff you sent from your hero. You can do small clips 10 seconds long. We don't need much. So what you send from your hero, you have to play to the best of your ability. It doesn't have to be fabulous and no one will hear it but me. But just play the stuff you are sending from your hero. Rhythm tracks work really great. Sometimes lead tracks work, other times they tank. It depends on the shape the files are in.

For example, someone just sent me Kiss Of Death by Dokken. They just sent the intro before the drums come in and they played it in their DI track. This helps with authenticity and I can't tell the difference between George and this clip. If you can't send an isolated track of your hero, I do have software that extracts and tone matches so we're not totally dead. However, it works best when you can literally grab pieces from your hero where he/she plays alone and you play the same piece in your DI track.

When you get all the stuff together and know exactly what you want/need from me, send me a message in private here and we'll talk about it and I'll check out the audio stuff you send and let you know in a few days if it's possible or not. No worries, if I can't cop something, I will tell you guys I can't and won't charge you a dime. I'm in this to blow your face off with realism if possible, not take your money for a failed attempt. So rest easy...if I fail you don't lose anything.

However, when you DO ok a sound that gets sent to you, it's a sound using your signal/DI. So when you OK it, I succeeded. There's no way your DI track will sound different than you playing into the preset. If by chance that does happen, we can try to fix it...but I can't see this happening unless you're just being difficult and trying to take advantage of me. :p Hopefully that doesn't happen....please don't do that. I'm begging. :)

So we'll go from there and see how we all make out. I'll be in touch...thanks!

Hi, just out of curiosity

"I do have software that extracts and tone matches so we're not totally dead"

Would you please tell which software you use for that?

Hey guys,

I wanted to chime in on this thread again. I had Danny make some custom presets for me this past week and I just gotta tell you he's the real deal. I sent my DI tracks and he worked real hard, sending me files of my DI tracks through what he had done. He also threw in a nice video explaining how he set up the patches.

Doing business on the internet can seem risky, but Danny's a guy I would do business with again in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone.

i contacted Danny to make some for me as well. I gave him a few bands & players i was interested in going after. Lynch being my number one priority. George has been my fave since i was about 14-15 years old, and i've always loved the Back for the Attack tones. I didn't really know what to expect, but the quality of his VH presets were pretty amazing, so was willing to give it a shot.

I'm a recording noob, but managed to record a couple DI files and send them to him. He got back to me the next afternoon with some samples using my files. They sounded pretty darn close to me, but he still wasn't fully satisfied and he did some more tweaking. I was impressed with what i heard, but i guess you never know what it will be until you are hearing it on your set up. I've owned all kinds of gear, and have heard many presets recorded that sounded good, but just did not work for me on my setup. And have almost never really heard anyone create a Lynch preset that was worth anything.

Finally got the presets and a 30 minute video presentation explaining how it was set up and how to use everything. Watched the video, and was super impressed again with what i heard, and the level of detail that Danny put into explaining everything. But i was super busy and didn't get around to using the presets until about 1:30-2am. Was super tired and planned to try them for a few and get to bed. Fast forward about 4 hours or so later i was absolutely floored at how good these things sounded. Just nailed the tones i had been after since i was a kid. Both rhythm and lead tones are amazing. i literally could not stop playing.

I'm new to the Fractal world and it really kind of makes me appreciate what is possible with this stuff.

Danny really knocked it out of the park, and was super committed the making sure i knew how to use everything and was 100% happy with it.
Definitely recommend his services! I hope to have him do some more stuff for me in the future for sure.

grandinq and El C:

You guys are awesome, thank you so much for the kind words. It was a pleasure working with you guys and I'm glad you're happy with this stuff. I know it's not for everyone as at times, this can be a little more pricey than we had hoped. However, if the end result nails what you were looking for, it makes it all worth it. Thanks for everything, guys!

Hello,Danny
I appreciate your work and videos a lot..thank you for your hard work in this comunity..
One Q; if I live in East Europe and I want to ask for a special sound on my Axe II..( Neal Schon ) how I will send the money?

Hi Virgil you're welcome, and thank you for the kind words. Oh, Neal.....there's a great one to create! I actually have a few sounds I created from Neal that I did.

My girlfriend makes me record a Journey song and sing it for her once a year. Lol!

To answer your question, all the guys from all over the world who have been working with me use PayPal for sending money.

So if you have a PayPal account, that will work fine. If not, you can create one for free. :) Thank you for your interest!

I had Danny create a George Lynch preset for me based on one of my favorite albums Wicked Sensation. Danny did a great job creating the tone and I was blown away with the results. Awesome to work with him as usual. Here is a sample from the preset. It's not a perfect mix but you get the idea.

Killer man!!!! Always a pleasure working with you Craig. Thanks for the kind words and for the cool conversation as of late. You got some great stuff in the works. Thanks again!

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuque!!! Spectacular! Danny I have to get one of these (are you still going to make the instructional video on how to get you the required tones/clips/DI?).

Yeah I guess I should probably create a new thread discussing what I'm doing now since it's no longer a preset bundle. The DI thing is simple if you have an MKII, XL or XL+ you have digital DI ability that will create perfect DI tracks just by using them in your DAW software and recording them.

The AX8 has this capability as well, however you have to use output 2 or something into your DAW. I've not tested this yet, but I have tested bypassing my AX8 and recording clean DI tracks at -12dB. Unfortunately, I failed using this method and the tracks were unusable.

So using the second output of the AX8 (according to the manual) and recording the tracks should fix this.

I've not tried it because my current studio rig does not support 1/4 inputs to my console and I've been too lazy to hook up a 1/4 to XLR conversion cable. I use my XL+ for all my DI tracks, so I've not needed DI tracks from my AX8.

I guess I'll have to hook it up so I can further explain how to get me the right tracks. I've had a few guys send me DI tracks that were too hot, so I normalised them to fix the issue.

I'll be in touch with some info next week. Swamped with work at the moment and a huge show on Saturday. In the meantime, if anyone is interested in the custom preset thing, please contact me via private conversation.

I don't want to upset Fractal or the community by openly selling services. I haven't looked at the forum enough to see if there is a place for me to post stuff like this. The last thing I want to do is upset anyone.

So in closing.....thank you all for your feedback. There will be no preset packs for sale. Instead I am doing custom presets for people on a one on one basis that want sspecific artists, patches, scenes or effects. This way the presets are made for you with your signal/guitar/pups/playing.

Contact me if interested. Thanks to all of you and Fractal/staff/mods for allowing me to talk about this openly.

Another customer totally satisfied with Danny Danzi services! I sent my DI tracks and Danny really did an awesome job!! Couldn't be happier with the results!! I am 44 years old with a 3 years old daughter and never have time to dial in and experiment with Fractal equipment to the extend I would love to...so lately I would never be able to get the sound/tones I wanted by my own...And besides the technical/sound engineering work, he is a very polite and nice guy! 5 star artist!!! Thank you @Danny Danzi !!

You are a good teacher

Thanks brother C! I had a blast working with you! Quite a challenge on that first sound, but we got it! 5 stars back to you for your patience and honesty. I've really worked with some great guys so far and made some great friends along the way. Thanks for that!

*feeling blessed and extremely thankful*

Lynch, DeMartini = take my money. o_O

Yeah I can do those for you without a problem. The only thing with DeMartinni, the sound is small and thin. Very little bass and body in his tone. But if you want it, I got that one. Lynch I would say I have better then any artist preset I've done so far. Message me if you're interested and we can talk further. :)

I wanted to express my interest... AND... I'll tell you one artist in particular that I'd toss some some cash for...
I've been searching for a tone for Let's Go Crazy by Prince... and nada. That hyper crunchy tone and that crazy tone in the outro solo... It's a pretty extreme bit of wah... there is an octavia or similar on the main solo... quite a bit going on tonally on this. A solid Purple Rain patch while were at it... But I don't know if Prince is in your 80's guitar hero category or not. He is for me.

That's a good one! Like I said earlier in the thread, I am creating custom presets...which mean ANY guitar player, not just 80's guys. I think your Prince suggestion is a great one that I'd gladly try. I originally started this thread with a different intention. After talking with several people and hearing the pros and cons of everything, the 80's hero thing is dead.

HOWEVER, if anyone wants 80's hero presets, I will make them custom for you. Just send me a message and we can talk about it. Not just 80's players, but ANY player. Though I am primarily more of an 80's guitar lover, I enjoy all styles and have copped tones from many different players. Here are a few I've done for clients as well as myself. As soon as I can get a little more time, I want to create an audio file and a video. So for now you'll have to take me at my word. :)

Current successful preset creations:

George Lynch: Various Dokken & Lynch Mob albums (George has been the easier artist to cop, which is awesome because he has a few tones that are out of this world)

Nuno Bettencourt: Extreme 1st album, Porno, (working on 3 sides and just did "Naked" on Waiting for the punchline)

Eddie Van Halen: VH1-1984 (working on F.U.C.K. and Balance)

The Edge: Pride

Eric Johnson: Ah Via Musicom

Ratt: Out of the Cellar, Invasion of your Privacy

Reb Beach: Various

Steve Vai: Passion and Warfare

Trevor Rabin: 90125

Vito Bratta: Pride

I have quite a few others in the works as well. I'll get an official thing going as soon as I can. In the meantime, if anyone is interested in anything custom, private message me. Thanks!

-Danny
