7 Pin Female Panel/Chassis Mount Connector

how come you need one?

if its to do with phantom power I got a 7pin midi cable put a 5 pin connector on one side (that goes to pedal) and then made the power go to the two outer pins there and modded the midi board inside

Another (better?) option is to use a 7 pin XLR panel mount connector. Then you would just take a 7 pin MIDI cable and replace one of the MIDI plugs with a cable mount 7 pin XLR connector. Redco has all the stuff you need for this.

Great suggestion Gary. Thanks! And thanks for reminding me of best-tronics Johnnyrockit. I had found their website earlier but had forgotten the name.

If you do that, make sure you build a spare cable or two! I know 7-Pin MIDI isn't common to begin with but if your cable ever died, you could use a 5-Pin and wall-wart power your controller directly.

BTW, it's pretty easy to fit one of the Neutrik MIDI connectors in a D-panel interface. You just need one of the covers and drill it out.
