60 Quadrillion sounds in a single preset

Not counting input and output and controller blocks, this preset contains 24 blocks with 5 states each (4 channels plus bypass).

All the possible combinations add up to 5^24 = 59.604.644.775.390.625 or roughly 60 quadrillion combinations.



I find this fascinating, and I applaud FAS for making the FC system where it is actually possible sensibly switching a lot of these sounds.

You forgot to account for Control Switches and expression pedals that can be assigned to control various parameters

In reality I'm using the controller block for auto wah, the input block could have gate settings for four different guitars, and I have a control switch attached to the preamp boost, so I probably should multiply by 32, which takes the number into the Quintillions

60 quadrillion combinations seems like a great idea on paper, but always remember TG3K's Maxim of Musical Mayhem:

Anything with more than three knobs has more bad settings than good ones.

That said, the Axe-Fx sure has a boatload of good settings, huh?
