nopeHope you made video of all this for more posterity!
Thanks.It's an absolute work of art Andy
I did it to help anyone else make one if they wanted too. There is quite a lot of people out there doing it and hopefully this can save them a lot of time by not making the mistakes I made along the way . I think I am going to be happy to stop when this one is finishedincredible work, Andy. Be very proud of your efforts and documentation.
Something about forcing the serial number doesn’t sit well with me, though I can see how that might be an attractive choice. I’d go for the vintage plate.Still can’t decide which neck plate, vintage but wrong Sn or pretty perfect repro;

Yes you see my dilemma. Original plate or original number?B4129
Looks like you’ve got another week’s worth of carving to replicate the damage under the pick tape. And you’ll have to hire three shifts of people to play the thing nonstop for ten years to replicate that nasty fingerboard.Just got these in better resolution;

From the guitar world cover in 88 and the best part is no pick tape so you can see the full body. The down side is the parallax view but they are very helpful.
Yes for the tape (already started) . The fingerboard is mostly like it because it’s half scraped off lacquer on the clean bits.Looks like you’ve got another week’s worth of carving to replicate the damage under the pick tape. And you’ll have to hire three shifts of people to play the thing nonstop for ten years to replacate that nasty fingerboard.![]()
