2x12 Stereo Cabs?

I'm considering using a 2x12 stereo cab with my Axefx 2 and Matrix power amp. I'm thinking of buying a vertical 2x12 with a slant on the top speaker, but this speaker cab can run in stereo. I realize that when this cab is setup for stereo usage ping-pong delays would then move top to bottom, instead of left to right, like a normal stereo spread, as in headphones.

Questions:

1) Does anyone like using a 2x12 in stereo with their Axefx?

2) Do you think a a single vertical 2x12 cab setup in stereo would sound good at all?

This for home use, but I care about tone.

Yes. Been doing this for years. Of course, the further away from a cabinet I am, the less stereo it is. That being said, even from a distance, it seems fuller sounding than running in mono.
