Last summer I reread "History of Western Music" by Grout in preparation for going back to school for a master's degree in music. I stumbled across a really hip 16th-century composer named Carlo Gesualdo. He was known for writing very chromatic music and also for murdering his wife and her lover in their bed.

Here's a 5-part madrigal called "Io Parto," recorded on a 9-string Xen guitar (plus an unpictured bass track on a Carvin LB76), played through my AxeFX II. The lead voices are on a patch based on Simeon's Allan Holdsworth lead patch, and the rhythm voices are the Angle Severe 2 through an ML Bulb cab. Drums are Superior Drummer with the Tomas Haake kit. I played them into Pro Tools via a midi keyboard.

That was so amazing!!! I love theses kinds of modernized interpretations... Thanks for sharing this piece... Rock on!
