I think they’re just doubled. I’d think you’d run into all sorts of problems usability-wise if else was the case. There's root and octave, what is the other thin string tuned too?
Looks & sounds like root and 2 unison octaves. There's root and octave, what is the other thin string tuned too?

Could be a 5th as well... It would make certain things seem a bit "off", but I think a lot of synth sounds include an octave and a 5th.That has to be right. Just curious because some of the sections sound so synthy. I'm sure technique is playing a role also.
Pretty sure this is a 12 string on this song. Dug has played 8 and 12 string basses, but
I think he has mentioned only using 4 string basses now.
Didn't Tom Peterson use one with Cheap Trick?
Wore that cd out back in the dayI knew he had a very unique bass tone but wasn't even aware that more than 4 or 5 strings existed in that time.
When I saw them about 3 years back, Dug busted out the 12 string for 3 or 4 tunes, including an encore of Dogman.Same.Saw them on that tour. I believe Dug played a lot of 8 and 12 string basses live
back in those days. Until Ty had enough of it, apparently.
Aye, yup. First time I knew I was hearing a 12-string bass was when I heard Jeremy.Jeremy from Pearl Jam anyone?
