“Jesus, is there anything you people don’t bitch about”

What happened to all of the comments about "if the firmware updates stopped at 16.5 and cliff stopped making the axe fx, I'd be happy with the axe 3 for the rest of my life."
I actually said that, and still haven't updated past 16.4. I think you may be getting people mixed up.

It's society today. We're all spoiled. We want instant gratification and we usually get it. When we don't get it we feel like we're being cheated.

I think society was better when life was harder. I grew up with nothing. Most of us did. I remember one of the best "toys" we ever got was the huge cardboard box the refrigerator came in. We spent hours in that thing pretending it was a spaceship. We would spend hours playing baseball with a worn out ball or walk along the railroad tracks looking for smushed pennies we left the day before. We didn't have any fancy electronics or social media or much of anything. We ate government issued cheese and powdered milk. And yet we were happy.

I really think social media was one of the worst things to happen to society. It had the power to be a useful tool but that power has been abused in the name of greed. People's brains are being rewired intentionally to addict them to it so they can generate more advertising revenue. People are accustomed to getting hundreds of little dopamine hits every day and it's made them irrational and demanding. Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey will go down in history as two of the most evil pricks the world has ever seen (Sheryl Sandberg will be right behind them at the gates of hell).

Couldn't agree more. I remember when FB first came out, a friend was singing its praises, talking about all the people you could reconnect with. I asked 2 questions: Why would I want to reconnect with people I didn't stay in touch with from school? There's a reason why. And, What's the catch?

I've only been active on one other forum, and it scored me a 150k/year job. I'll admit I'm a bit addicted to this one however, but I really try to use the internet for its benefits, as I get my biggest enjoyment from building and running projects more efficiently, and of course improving myself as a guitarist.

Everyone wants the shiny new thing, including myself. If there are perceived features I believe that would make the experience using it better I will end up with GAS.

After having used the Axe FX III Mark II for 2 weeks now, I fail to see how getting Turbo would benefit me. I'm not suggesting Fractal as a company not move forward with bigger and better products. I am saying that this thing is the space shuttle of guitar modeler's and it's going to take me 5 years to really figure out how to use all the features that are already here.

I guess my point is similar to the post above, as a society we need to appreciate the things we already have more...

Hard times create strong men,
Strong men create easy times,
Easy times create weak men,
Weak men create hard times.

Education, passion can (maybe) break that.

I knew there was a reason I like Fractal so much! Always played in those carboard boxes also. And 100% agree, social media has been the continual downfall for people.

Speaking of kids, just so you know, my son has been teaching himself to play guitar. It's pure joy watching him going through the Axe-Fx III and experiencing all of the different amps that I never would have been able to do at his age when I started learning. He was trying out guitars at GC, and playing through an orange amp there. Then came home and created his own preset using the orange amp in the Axe-Fx. Really nailed the sound. He spends hours playing guitar now and to me, part of that is just having an arsenal of killer sounds available. So thanks for all your work and endless updates. It's making my kid VERY happy in his guitar journey! Oh, and I quite enjoy it also :)

Internet was created for sharing pornography and telling strangers why they are “wrong” about things after all.....
You forgot 'downloading new Fractal firmware updates when the PTB deign to spoil us,' or is that your idea of aurotic stimulation? I have a friend who...

Cliff I remember an interview where you said that early on you used to be offended and learned quickly to grow some super thick skin. I too learned that you will NEVER please everyone, and there will ALWAYS be people who have a problem with you, for whatever reason, even if you're LITERALLY Jesus!

So keep your chin up, have a great time with the family and enjoy your life the way you have given us the tools to help enjoy ours! Not everyone is a spoiled instant gratification needy idiot, and those of us who aren't are VERY thankful, amazed, inspired and appreciative by your exemplary work, ethic and model! Not to mention dumbfounded by all your eCliffanies....truly fortunate we are to be able to share in this exciting journey you carry us on!

Keep Rockin! 🤘

@Whistler to Jesus
“Jesus, is there anything you people don’t bitch about?”

Jesus to whistler
“I only bitch about that thing you guys call
god..... and also avid...my axe fx 3 MK ONE(1) and FAS are the last to bitch about, those are god sent.” (and as usual he is being paradoxical)

Working for something keeps you focused and makes life more meaningful. Start at the top with everything and you have a long, miserable road ahead of you. Pretty sure the government is working hard to fix that second sentence for us. Just not for them.

I don't get why people don't get it. Axefx3 is the best of the best and many people who buy it want to have / must have the best of the best, are very passionate about their gear, and may have been through a lot of other gear before arriving at Axefx - for many of them, hearing "just enjoy what you have, its still awesome" just aint gonna cut it when a better version appears. Also, I suspect there are a fair number of owners here who really had to stretch their budget to afford Axefx - those people will logically tend to be more sensitive to any devaluation real or perceived - they may have spent years to save for that best of class unit - I think thats something forum members need to be sensitive to particularly those for whom its no big deal financially to upgrade the moment a new iteration drops and who may be oblivious to why his/her fellow forum member might be comcerned - in a sense, this can also be an overly entitled attitude.
