    A small update: You can see in the pic below that the signal into the Axe (left) is not what is coming out of the Axe (right). You can also see that the right side is completely flat. Channels 9-10 is the stereo S/PDIF on my FireFace 400. Coincidence that the tracks are also called 9 and 10 :D
