What is the base sampling rate?

Latency is not 0. There are buffers. That is how PCM digital audio works. See you interface in your computer. But it is very low and yes, if you wanted to run 96kHz it would require more processing power... but technically the latency is lower. There is, of course, a tradeoff.

What is the base sampling rate?

Well, somewhat. They can produce a mangled 22k signal... and I would argue a mangled 12.25k signal... and so on. Go down into the real concepts. They have been feeding us the lie that 44.1k can do up to 22k.... well, it just isn't true in the real world.

What is the base sampling rate?

That is the beauty of America. We can each believe what we want. I know, that for me, hi res makes a huge difference. I gave up evangelizing that long ago. If you just hear Eddie's guitar in hi-res vs CD... ah.... just has more kick. But... that is just me and most everyone I have played it for...

What is the base sampling rate?

Typically it lowers the potential latency.

What is the base sampling rate?

In a way, this makes me happy. I'll save $2499! That is a killer new amp and I will be happy with my Ax-8 for playing live. Or even better, a new high-end acoustic(okay, half of one). That is really all I wanted to know. Thanks for the information.

What is the base sampling rate?

I will say, the only people that say there is no difference are people that have not spent a little bit of time listening to it. Forget the B.S. arguments. Just listen. I have > 600 albums in hi-res. Can I still listen to others? sure. Of course I could still have my old Stella guitar instead of...

What is the base sampling rate?

That is too bad if true. I rarely listen to < 88k anymore. I prefer real amps ever since I got used to hearing the clarity of higher resolutions. 192 and then 384 just sound amazing, not to mention DSD64 and up. That would be the final nail in the coffin if you mixed Cliff's algorithms with the...

We are sure about that? Is that confirmed from Fractal? I could not find it in the specs.

What is the base sampling rate?

I have become a hi-res junky, and my desire would be a minimum of 96kHz, but 192kHz would be even better. Did we make this leap with the III?

    FX8 Mark II looks sweeeet!

I don't get the whole problem that people are having. I have Axe-Fx Mark 1 and am just fine with it. Mk 2, if I remember right, added a new connector which I didn't need. Should I be angry about that? I didn't care... Mk 3 was a bigger change and I have a choice to upgrade or not. I bought an...

    FRFR Solutions

I bought a B-stock one of these for $179. The lows are what you woiuld expect... somewhat hyped since it is so small... but for an ultraportable speaker and one that sits nicely in my living room, I am really enjoying it. It is more of a 'practice amp' sound than a full rig sound, but that is...

Do Pro Users Record the Axe-Fx through a mic pre?

This is a great question. I have been recording off and on for 25 years. EVERY piece of equipment puts stamp on the sound. Every cable, every amplifier, every guitar, every pickup, every speaker, every cabinet…. EVERYTHING. My years of searching for the perfect guitar sound took many turns and...

    Audient id22 interface

I have not used the id22, but I am the proud owner of some Audient ASP008 preamps. Their preamps are lightyears beyond the Presonus M80 preamps that I had before. I heard them and immediately put my Presonus up for sale. The quality of Audient is exceptional. Audient is a pro company building...

    CAB > AMP

This is the case with cabinets in general. 10 years ago I went on a spending spree buying amps and cabinets. I wanted a 4x10 and saw a Reverend amp and cab in Ebay... so I won it. I got it and was excited to hook it up and play. Oh my gosh.... that was absolutely the most horrible sounding...

Signal Chain + FX management: is the Axe-FX the only box that does this?

I second the Sound Sculpture Switchblade . I still have one. An analog version that is equal to, and in some cases, more powerful. Of course, it is only the mixer. efx not included.

    Second Day - Impressions

I finally replaced my fan. You will need to open it up to find out what size. Mine is the original 60mm. I hear they now use 80mm. I bought both of the following (not realizing until I opened it that I had the 60mm) and these fans are extremely quiet. If you are lucky to have an 80mm you will...

    Bad cat clean channel suggestion

I have a Bad Cat Black Cat 30 (no reverb) that I have offered before. Although my Bruno Underground 30 is a much cooler amp. Either or both are available to send to Cliff if he ever wants me to.

    Nothing like a real Plexi

Me too! With the built in phaser! Actually, that was my second amp. My first was a Stage (20?). A tiny solid state amp that I blew up. I don't miss the amps but I sure do miss being that excited about everything. Memory lane.

I posted this in another thread, but I have an Underground 30 that I would gladly lone Cliff in order to get it dialed in. It is a beautiful sounding amp.

New to digital, will the Axe FX be able to replace my Two-Rock boutique amp ?

I have always looked at the Axe as another amp (or in this case, 70 more amps) for my arsenal. I have not bought any new amps since I got it (a testament to it's tone). Some days I like it more than others, but I always felt the same about my amps. Some days my Budda was awesome, some days I...

Does this happen with your laptop turned off as well? Guitar pickups are notorious for picking up a high-pitched noise when computers are nearby.

JCM 800 sounds a bit muddy with FW 6.0 tips?

Mine is perfect right out of the box going through my Atomics... Just when it seems it is perfect... 6.0 comes out. What's next? Maybe a vacation for Cliff? :)

    Plexi treble sounds excellent!

Most definitely a great sounding amp. The Friedman's kick as always. Some of my other favorites are Prince Tone and the Hipower Brilliant. A huge chunky sound. Cliff has really done it this time. Stunning.

And to me, the Prince Tone is glorious. Simply beautiful and crystal clear.

Firware update of AxeFxII to 3.04 has caused a frozen unit

Is there anything to do? The unit just sits staring blankly at me with all lights on. I waited a few minutes after it first went blank. I tried restarting as someone else suggested. Now it just sits with all lights lit. Ugghhh Is there a hardware reset switch somewhere? Am I just out of luck...

Ty Tabor in the new Guitar World

I played a show with Kings X a year ago August. At the time he had the AxeFx as his effects and the Egnater's for his amps. We talked for a bit and he was definitely enjoying the amp sounds for recording but had not yet used them live. The simplicity , consistency and great tones that the AxeFx...

    Switch Grouping on the MFC

I had read about it when I answered. In practice, I was disappointed. Unless I am missing an option, when you group switches, it does not let you turn them all off. It is currently designed to work, I would say, like an A/B switch (or A/B/C/D/E). One always stays on even if you press it a second...

    Trying to decide???

Is it really $100 savings? Is it $100 off of the intro price of $749? Or is it $100 off of the list price of $799. If it is the latter (which would by my first guess) then it is really only a $50 savings. Does anyone know this answer for sure? btw, I just ordered mine... :D because I don't care...

That is a good question. I rarely sell equipment, which would explain why I have so much crap piling up. How Loud is 1 x Atomic Reactor FR?

I use a single Atomic FRFR and it is great for rehearsals and I have used two onstage and they worked fabulously there as well. It all comes down to music style. AXE FX or AXE FX ULTRA?

Personally, the $500 was not much of a difference. I learned years ago to buy the best. It saves you money and the wasted time of wondering if you want the other. I would say, if you can afford it do it. Is it necessary? no. Is it a plus? yes. I have created patches that push the Ultra. Those...

A personal & temporary workaround for different transients

Hey Bloke... just wondering if you have tried any of the radial products that keep the impedance levels so that your guitar reacts like it is connected to an amp. How to control FX mix with expression pedal ala Steve Morse

He also blends his amps (or he used to at least). One night, years ago, I had the pleasure of watching the Steve Morse band while standing at the stage right next to Mr. Morse. He used a single volume pedal that would go from clean amp to distorted amp. This can easily be done in the Ultra with...

    Rocktron All access

I own both an All Access and a Liquid Foot Pro. The All Access is very traditional and very stable. In comparison, it is also very limited in comparison to the LFP. I used my All Access for the first month of using my AxeFx Ultra. I was just dying to have more information about what was...

    9.02 Amp Model Poll

Spikey, welcome to the wonderful life of an Axe-Fx owner. GAS can be greatly reduced because Cliff is always giving us something new... and we don't have to buy anything new for it! I love that part! By far the best $2000 I have ever spent on guitar gear.

    2nd go at an Ultra

I just looked and it appears that the 6100 has a parallel effects loop. If that is true, I would recommend using this effects loop for what you are wanting to do. A parallel effects loop will make it so that the Axe-Fx is only adding to the sound. This will leave the pure signal pure and allow...

Axe Poweramp/Cab sounds quite cold with no punch

What tube amps are you comparing it to? Having been a longtime EV12L user, those speakers are really pretty lousy. I always thought they were the thing until I really started comparing them. And... following a Samson amp... yikes... I doubt anything would sound too good there. I have compared...
