    RIP Dickey Betts

Such an Iconic player with a very cool image-Sad..........Saw them , iirc, it was Nassau Coliseum on Long Island right when I got out of Nam, maybe April or May 1970... I was kind of high in those days but pretty sure it was there. In those days all the cool bands played the colleges on long...

Besides performing live how do you guys get people to discover you in your city?

Now that's a good idea. I used to do that because I like to play in front of people and played solo and in bands. I got wedding jobs and other offers from those open mic nights!

    FM3 Firmware Version 8.00 beta 1

Well, guess it's pass time I take my FM3 Turbo out of the box and update it/. I use my FM9 exclusively. Only turned the FM3T on to test it and see the larger screens. Then packed it away. I am going to switch them out for a while....weird-I know!

    Are buttons a must

Sounds to me like the FM9 would be perfect for you. Also, the resale value of new ones is very healthy should the need arise. Jump in the water is fine. BTW I am some what of an expert on procrastinating so I know!

Can We Stop Calling It A Home Studio?

Well to each his own-I always have and always will refer to my home studio as a , well, home studio. 1. It is IN MY HOME, so I am 50% there! 2. I record music there. I play music there. I write music there. The whole idea, imho, of calling it a home studio is basically saying, No I do NOT make...

Can We Stop Calling It A Home Studio?

    Gibson es-339 question?

I don't like the PRS necks at all. But besides that I truly have always wanted an es-XXX type guitar. As stated above I am seriously looking at the Eastman T484.............
  13. Stratman68

    Gibson es-339 question?

Probably just NEW to Sweetwater. I did.t like the SHAPE of the newer though. Not to mention they cost more.
  14. Stratman68

    Gibson es-339 question?

It is the same as the T486. seems all their semi hollows say Traditional Even C profile neck. was just looking at Sweetwater and NOW Eastman has this thinline model-something new-wasn't there yesterday. Not for me though.
  15. Stratman68

    Gibson es-339 question?

So I was checking specifics on the Eastman T484-Body is same as 339. 12" radius-Ebony fingerboard. Says Center block. What is curious is the Traditional Even C Profile neck? I could not find an image for that. I know of course what a C profile is. Never heard of Even C? Anyone know cause I am...

  17. Stratman68

    Gibson es-339 question?

I think it's the T484 that is semi hollow! 1/2 the price of the Gibby- Looks pretty cool! https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/T484GB--eastman-guitars-t484-gb-thinline-semi-hollowbody-electric-guitar-goldburst
  18. Stratman68

    Gibson es-339 question?

Honestly, I have looked quite a bit at the epi 339's. I am not a wealthy person by any stretch of the imagination but the price for these is SMALL. Thanks for the idea-it's a good one!
  19. Stratman68

    Gibson es-339 question?

Greg, So is it just the "finish" mainly and not the quality of the wood itself?
  20. Stratman68

No, But I do know I do NOT want a guitar as large the es-335. I agree that I should play one-cannot find one locally.

  26. Stratman68

    FM9 middle 'feet'

Maybe because it's a LONG box. why not support the middle? Yes I know it's metal. Easily removed for anyone who wants to. I think it was a GOOD solid idea.

But if the amp and speakers are powered off I would imagine their is no pop-right?
  30. Stratman68

dumb question - any "fix" for the loud pop you get when powering on/off?

As far as your home studio I would suggest you check how you have things set up. Most all of us having Audio interfaces in our home studios. Yes if I turn my AI off first it causes issues with my PC\daw, not any pops or fractal stuff. At home, can you not turn off your monitors\or whatever...

dumb question - any "fix" for the loud pop you get when powering on/off?

I have studio monitors, 2 Yamaha DXR10's and 2 EV ELX 200's. All connected to a mixer. I have a Audio interface also. I ALWAYS just turn off the powered Speakers (whichever I am using at that time) and never a pop or anything. seems weird.

AI generated music has taken a huge leap

POP Music, Hip Hop and the like already in my, that's not music category. Very few exceptions! Just sayin! I also am not thrilled about AI because I have NO DOUBT it will be MISUSED immensely-not just music! I love technology but I fear the temptation for misuse is too great!
  40. Stratman68

AI generated music has taken a huge leap

FM9(orig) audio stops when launching an audio p[roject in Daw?

I do not use the FM9 as an AI. I use a Focusrite 18i20 3rd Gen. Analog outs of the FM9 straight into the Focusrite. I do use a lot of midi. My projects are all midi VSTS except for my vocals and all guitars(elec & acoustic). Then I render ALL midi to audio and record my vocals and guitars last.

FM9(orig) audio stops when launching an audio p[roject in Daw?

Yes I believe both NattyBar and Unixguy are correct. I am trying to dig into it. But the strangest part is this just started to happen only a few weeks or so ago. Cakewalk and my projects have not changed. so it is strange. I will post back when I di in deeper.

FM9 - can't permanently disable from System Sounds

When I power on my FM9, My DAW always ask me if I want it added to audio devices but never does it make it the default. So for me this is not an issue. Are you saying it actually becomes the default device or is it just being acknowledged by windows as an audio device. Big difference.

Now I am NOT a metal guy-But the clip posted by 621 is light years ahead of the clips posted by the OP. The OPs clip sound so unclear, no definition and , etc, etc. Just my 2 cents, it is NOT the fractal gear that is the issue.

  81. Stratman68

Really need help and it should be easy for you.

I disagree-Many, many of the factory presets sound fine-listen to cooper carter. So SOMETHING is wrong. Making his own is NOT going to fix the issue if all the factory presets sound terrible-Your post is misinforming the OP. Never use the amp\cab from a factory or purchased or GOT preset? Uh, nope!
