The front input (jack) is mounted on a little board. This board has the „special sauce, Cliff‚s words“, I think some R and C smd parts. Something is wrong with the board, but you can easily change it. I had that two times and German distribution did send me the board. Call support in US.

    It must sound better

because it's about 16,9 kg!!! In fact, it's a tube amp :). Joking aside, I think it's too heavy, with rack and amp it's over 30 kg (without inear and wireless). A complete live rig tends over 40 kg. This is nothing for my old back. The dimensions are not up to date.. Maybe for bedroom practice...

No problem, but if you don't hear a difference, that don't mean, there's no difference. You're all talking about sound, I talk about noise floor - like the guy with the problem from the OP! Especially when using a wireless unit! When you turn down your guitar volume to zero (using a guitar...

Well, that's true - "the manual". But listen to the linked file (I cannot upload the file because of the restrictions of the fractal forum site). Front Input vs Rear Input

The end of the "amp in th room" discussion for me

The biggest advantage of an axe fx is the modeling of preamp and poweramp. The way you drive the poweramp makes the sound of the amp. Best results you get with a neutral linear SS Amp.
