Could be wrong but I remember seeing a studio pic of part of his rig and the midi controller next to the rack with the axe-fx was the MFC101 along with I believe a mission pedal as well. Thought the bezel on the midi board matched the mfc in this video.

Do shock rack cases really make a difference?

They're expensive and heavy.. That said, If I were touring I'd take every precaution necessary if for no other reason than accidents happen. Some dumb roadie bumps your case and it plummets 4 feet to the floor on the corner while ripping the cables from the back and the axe's screen happens...

POD HD vs. Axe FX once again!

Pod definitely has a different character. Not bad, Just different. Seems to be a little more scooped nu-metal type tone where the axe has a little more going on in the midrange. More body which seems to sit better in the mix. Again, they're different but neither are bad, at all.

Any issues with UPS for AxeFx deliveries?

Mine came without blemish. While i'm not saying I'm the source reference here, but I can also say I've had nothing but good experience with both UPS and FedEx. Never a destroyed/damaged/scratched package from either.

Best $.99 I've spent in recent memory...

I grabbed that app as soon as it was released and I've used it TONS ever since. I also do not own the cable and simply use the mic on the phone itself. I've found it extremely valuable when helping/teaching kids how to tune their guitars in their lessons and it also helps them SEE the notes...

Opinions on the JBL JRX112M

Not a fan of the jrx series. Had alot of issues with crossovers and drivers failing. Not really a fan of much jbl outside their "top tier" stuff. And for the price the top tier isn't high on my list. Mrx are decent and srx are ok but you can do better for less money.

Saw Dream Theatre last night....

He's also got buttkickers (sub woofer motors) in those diamond plate footrests of his. Maddy does a real good job explaining his rig on the Petrucci forum for anyone interested. Also does a great job answering questions as the thread develops. I must say, Very cool.

Thinking of getting a Standard to replace my 11R

Hah. I do believe we bought the pair of "B" stock stamdards at the same time. Mine, as well had no signs of being anything short of "A" stock. A hear and a half and not a single desire to turn back.
