Wiring ! when is an upgrade an upgrade?

I tried these and they are high quality but.. I liked the Bourns because these are low friction. The CTS require a lot more torque. Any way to loosen them up? Or is there an alternative?

Seems about right. As I wrote before, very complex setup, lots of different guitars but not a big difference in his lead sound. Also, I find that, when turning down the volume on my guitars, I have a lot more control than he had.

I find that, with every big step in Firmware, I need to do less to adjust for the difference between lo gain pickups and high gain pickups. I used to have to adjust more for switching between SD JB's and SD '59's or '78's.

Same as when summing to mono. Doesn't sound the same as panning hard left and right. Funny enough, when panning amps centre, input cabs on stereo and panning centre, summing to mono sounds exactly the same. So there's a big difference when panning amps and cabs hard left/right and then summing...

My SC 245 ticks all the boxes. I love it that I have a (master) volume knob closer so I can do swells and such. The second knob is a master tone, the two bottom knobs I've replaced with three-way switches (S/P/SC)

Apple Imusic menu system BLOWS!

Still using MediaMonkey to my heart's content. It writes metadata to the MP3. If you have to reinstall, it just reads all the data from the music files. Oh, and it plays just about anything

AxeFx III died - and was revived

No, AxeEdit. I used Fractool to check the preset. Strange that in the preset imported with AxeEdit, the amp & cab wer reset. But I suspect that was because they were Global Blocks and I hadn't reloaded the system parameters yet.

I'll try to get everything working again this morning. As stated, I cleared the first five resets. When scrolling through the presets, the unit froze at #12. So, I decided to do an update first. Didn't help, unit still froze. Copied preset #000 to #013 - still freezes when trying to go to #014...

Dropouts in Reaper with Analog Lab V VST

CPU is around 30-34% Someone in the Arturia forum suggested turning multicore on for the plug in. Also to switch the AxeFX to the PCIe USB extension card. I did both and now I have no more dropouts I use it as my soundcard in Reaper

How many of you are volume pot riders?

I've been doing it since like forever. I started out on a Strat and that's why I don't blend with LP style geetars. I like to have the volumepot at my pinky and control the gain and use it for violin swells.

If the MF 10 is good enough for live use, I would go with that since there's a set in B-stock for €1499. A single MF 10 PRO/M is €999 Also, I would like to now if there's a difference in sound.

Another thing may be that - and I'm going out on a limb here - the amp simulations have been continuously evolving and improving. To some people that may give them the impression that these weren't perfect yet. So they may prefer a modeller with profiles from their own amps or other existing...

This A lot of guitar players have a favourite tube amp. But the tubes are vulnerable and sensitive to wear. The Kemper is - AFAIK - easy when you just take a profile of your amp and don't touch the controls.

I was using a Moabi Cab from OH that I was very happy with. I tried the 1960 TV with a ribbon and a dynamic and within a few minutes, I had a sound that was almost a perfect match to the OH.

I totally agree. I've been trying all kinds and got interested in the low gain pickups and the SD '59 worked best for me. It even works well in a HSS setup. I had a custom '78 and a new '78 but still preferred the '59.

I got an Acer "43 K a few years back. Before that I had 2 27" Dells. But I wanted more screen vertically and not loose screensize horizontally. So a 43" fitted the bill. And it's great for gaming too :-)

What do people mean when they say modelers "lack the amp feel"?

I think it comes down to the difference of hearing the sound from a cab versus the sound of a miked cab. I think this is because a microphone can never capture the whole sound of a cab, only part of the speaker it's pointed at and also you hear it through another speaker that is never fully...

Because I don't want to keep switching cables. A KVM switch doesn't work with a 4K screen Not only that, The OS needs to be set up totally different

I was wondering if there's a big difference in a PCI 3 vs a PCI 4 NVMe drive - would you notice the speed difference? Also, which are the most reliable? Another question is regarding a DAW- vs Game PC. I have two separate PC's now but I'm thinking about adding some NVMe-drives to the Game PC and...

Ritchie Blackmore / Deep Purple tone

I recorded this back in 2019 with a Strat with Kinmans and, IIRC, Friedmans. Meanwhile, the preset has changed somewhat. I made a version with 3 types of amps: AC30 clones Plexis Friedmans All sound pretty similar since I'm using the same IR for all.

24 fret guitar question

It is. I prefer 22 frets for that reason. Or 23 ;-) My first Warmoth I ordered back in '93 was a soloist model with a 24 fret neck. But the didn't move the neck pickup . So I had to cut off the last fret and so I only had 23.

This is what I tell them.

I hate having to defend myself against traditionalists and tube sniffers alike.... But I also won't try to convince anyone. I always tell them what works for them is the best. It's what you do with it that counts. And those tube sniffers aren't as savvy as they think they are... I still remember...

K. Fischer - NJ

I've got a 2013 Fender FSR Strat with a '78 and 2 SSL-1's and this works very well with it. I also paired a OH 412 MRBW M75-GNR cab with it and that works well too. Another brilliant preset. Thanks.

Flipping the neck humbucker on an HH guitar

I flipped the neck pickup to have humbucking when selecting the inner or outer coils. If your pickup's bobins are the same, it would't matter how you turn it I think.
