    Modeling Effects?

That is what I was hoping to know: can I tweak the effect blocks to get my pedals if they are not modeled "in the box"? I can get close with lower priced modelers but my pedals still sound better.

    Modeling Effects?

Not just drives, but any effect block: chorus, flanger, phasers, etc. Sounds like there are several ways; my thought was to use/adjust effect parameters in the effect blocks. Not tone matching or software programming.

    Modeling Effects?

I'm wondering if anyone has modeled their favorite effect pedals? I tried searching for the topic and did not see results... Are there areas / topics where I may find information on user modeled effects? Any recommendations / guidelines / approaches / how to's on modeling effect pedals...

    Questions on the FX8

So I can edit the drive blocks to model od, dist, fuzz pedals that are not provided models? Similar editing is available for chorus, flanger, phase shifter, delay, reverb,...? Are there any restrictions / limits to the number of same effects, not that I would like do this but if I wanted say...

    Questions on the FX8

Will the FX8 have deep editing capabilities to model effects that are not "out of the box"? For example, say I really dig the Boss DS-1 which is not modeled (in the AxeFX II)...is it possible for me to create a DS-1 model? I have a few other effects I'd like to model as well, not just drives...

Wouldn't it be great if the whole thing was handled this way:

Wouldn't it be great if Cliff handled it the way he wanted, being it is his company and product after all? Oh, that's right, he did! :) Gotta love people telling Cliff how he should run his business. (sarcasm alert). Cliff is pushing the technology to the next level, get on board or...

Full commital to the AxeFX: How long did it take you?

I bought an Ultra in Oct '08 and was blown away. However, within 4 months I thought it was overkill for my needs so I sold it. I've been regretting it ever since. Biggest bonehead, dumbass move I've made in a long time; unfortunately, I'm sure it won't be the last but I hope the next moment of...

New to Axe FX, looking for advice on a powered monitor

If you search on studio monitors you'll find a number of threads. Its been awhile, but I think a number of people use powered studio monitors vs powered FRFR PA cabs, or have both, etc. FWIW I used a Bose L1 Model II system with my Ultra, and will use that system with my Standard (when I buy...

dk_ace, that's what I was thinking in my original post. May need to see what I can do with my Ultra. I'd like to hear this with a 6-string too! Peace

    Jangle Box Compressor Effect?

Listen to the diff in this clip! I want this chime and jangle sound: http://www.janglebox.com/music/demovoice.mp3 More info http://www.janglebox.com/ Any ideas on a starting point for this compressor model? How possible is this with an Axe-Fx? 1-2 compressors, a treble boost, and ...? 8-)...

Disappointed that there aren't more presets online

I've assumed the default settings for Amp and Cab blocks are close to the "originals", though not sure if this is correct? If this is not a valid assumption, then I'd like to see reference patches (wish list!) for the original Amp + Cab being simulated that can be used as a starting point for...

Which Drive block settings to approximate Vox Tone Bender?

thanks, Bongo (and everyone!) Not sure of the source of the original lead sound on Taxman, and rumors abound. I've heard from several people on various forums that it was simply an Epiphone Casino into a Vox, likely the 7120 or a Fender Showman? The 7120 may have been modified to add the Vox...

Which Drive block settings to approximate Vox Tone Bender?

Re: Which Drive block / settings to approximate Vox Tone Bender? Yes, I've head different stories too. Pretty sure it was an Epiphone Casino, I've heard it was a Vox 7120 or AC30 or a Fender Showman or...? Also some stories say Casino into a cranked amp or with a tone bender or the console...

Which Drive block settings to approximate Vox Tone Bender?

The '60s Vox Tone Bender fuzz pedal was a predecessor of the Fuzz Face. Any recommendations on the best starting point for a Drive block setting? I'm thinking Hard Fuzz? Any thoughts? Here is some info/analysis on the circuit: http://fuzzcentral.ssguitar.com/vox.php (FWIW, The sound I'm...

Videoclip demonstrating the Axe FX' dynamics

Very Cool! can you upload that to axechange? :) I didn't hear any real noticeable change in overall volume as you went from/to clean to distorted. I'd like to be able to do something similar, though go from clean to louder lead jangle 'n twang (think early George Harrison, Chuck Berry, Carl...

Review of the Atomic Full Range amp and Axe-Fx

Chris, thanks for sharing your perspective, it certainly makes me even more interested in the pairing! As an Ultra owner newbie (about 2 months) I can get many tones I like, that sound good to me, and what I'm after, however I don't know what the real, originals would sound like. Are there...

Buying and using full range speakers: A few basics

Solo, sorry I should have stated I'm looking for a rack mount unit not a table top version in line mixer, but the link you provided looks like it has everything I need, thanks! Also, thanks for the warning on the Behringer - similar to what I've read - appears to be a quality control issue -...

Buying and using full range speakers: A few basics

Joe, I have a similar issue with active FRFRs (which I'm selling my no-longer-used rack amp gear for) not having enough inputs. I need to support bass, guitar and keyboards which I want to have in stereo too, so I'm looking into getting a rack line mixer like this Behringer...

    Poll - please vote !!

I'm currently running my Ultra in to my guitar rig: ADA B200S (solid state, two channel power amp) into 4 2x12 ADA Slant SplitStack cabs ( 2 per side). I'm using this until I can sell some gear I no longer need (including the ADA amp and cabs listed above) and can purchase an FRFR system...

Announcement: Atomic Reactor FR - UPDATED 7/27/09

Re: Announcement: Atomic Reactor FR Sounds sweet! I've read the announcement that FAS and Atomic are "joining forces" but each brand is staying intact. Very cool, IMHO. I'd really like these, but I'm looking for a single speaker solution not only for guitar, but for bass and keyboards too. So...

    Axe PC

We are in agreement. for example: I stated that hardcore diehard crackers do it for reasons other than making money - as you stated, for the challenge and enjoyment. I also stated that the security needed to be strong enough to dissuade the casual hackers and crackers (as we both said, the...

    Axe PC

(In software for 23+ years) Agree, no security measures are 100% secure. However, if you take measures to make it extremely difficult, it will dissuade all but the most diehard crackers. If a $700 piece of software takes someone 10-15 minutes to defeat its security it will be more readily...

    Axe PC

If the AxePC price for existing hardware owners is reasonable I'd consider it. What would be nice is to have this sweet GUI as a realtime editor and visual output monitor for the hardware: so the guitar is connected to my Ultra which is connected to my Mac; and I can use the software to edit...

Like several others who've posted on this topic, I'm also looking for a vintage clean tone, a bright, crystal "twang" tone, and a vintage clean tone with some natural breakup / light tube overdrive, so here are more specifics on my Vox wish-list. 1+ for each of these: Vox A.C. 50/80/100 Super...

    FAS and Axe-Fx Logo Gear?

On a separate topic on the GP review of the Axe-Fx the discussion turned to many people not knowing about the Axe-Fx or FAS. I thought logo gear would be one way to do it, I mean look at all the Harely -t-shirts and West Coast Chopper gear, very few even own either! I remember the "I own a...

Temporary Controller for switching between presets only?

Old ADA MIDI footswitches use 7-pin MIDI cables and phantom power. Not sure if they are compatible with the Axe-Fx, I haven't tried mine yet - I'll likely get a new footswitch board for my Ultra eventually. adadepot.com has info on the pedals, you can find them on ebay and sometimes on...

What kind of XLR Cables are you using?

Thanks everyone. Great info and confirmation of my Mogami preference  I'm familiar with the guitar/instrument/speaker etc. cables of the 1/4" and TRS variety not so much the XLR types. My bass and guitar pre-amps (save one) all have balanced XLR outs, and I use the 1/4" unbalanced outs...

What kind of XLR Cables are you using?

I'm looking to get XLR cables to run from my Ultra to my-as-yet-to-be-ordered Apogee Duet. At some point, I may get a pair of FRFRs and would like to be able to reuse the cables. The cables would also be used for mics too, on occasion. Nearly every XLR cable I find is labeled "mic", I did find...

Martin D-35 Acoustic guitar from a solid body electric?

Martin D-35 Acoustic guitar from a solid body electric?

On the Line6 POD demo site, there was a "real" dreadnought acoustic guitar sound but the guitar being played was a solid body electric. I thought the sound was amazing if I heard that I would swear it was an acoustic! Anyone have a preset that can turn an electric guitar (solid, semi-hollow...
