Fender FR-12 preamp mod : The Hissterectomy

I guess all I was saying was that getting the updated preamp makes sense to me, not only because of the hiss but the V2 Gold has sonic and functional improvements as well. But to my knowledge there aren't any issues with the power amp that really need to be fixed.

Fender FR-12 preamp mod : The Hissterectomy

It's actually been hit and miss. Some of the newer ones still have the issue. To my knowledge there hasn't been a categorical upgrade with a date certain after which no units have hiss.

Fender FR-12 preamp mod : The Hissterectomy

Very nice! As Hannibal Smith used to say "I love it when a plan comes together!" Mine is a partscaster too. Silent rehearsal studio

    FM3 for REAL Jazz

Actually the George Benson Hot Rod Deluxe is but if you don't want a Fender that's fine. I have to disagree with this. The "real Jazz" thing became an issue when "Smooth Jazz" became popular and it was a term used to differentiate music rooted in the historic Jazz tradition from what I...

    FM3 for REAL Jazz

To me, Jazz tone is Wes Montgomery. Please take everything I say with that as a caveat. I started with the Studio Clean preset in an early firmware version of the FM3 and then changed the amp to, if memory serves, a Mesa preamp using an ES-335 and an ES-137 Custom, not a fully hollow jazzbox...

    1 week with Fm9...might stick with Fm3

I love my Axe FX III/FC-12 rig. I took it to a rehearsal once and realized that a more compact rig would be more user friendly. I'm the same way but I'm sticking with Fractal because their products are excellent and I've invested significant time in learning how to use their gear. It was on another forum. A few people mentioned it, I asked about it, and eventually Cliff confirmed it. Axe Fx II Headphones question + Problem.

I would assume that the headphone out on the Axe II is there for convenience and not intended for mixing. I wouldn't bet that either headphone output (Axe II or your computer) is of particularly high quality in comparison to a dedicated headphone amplifier but that's just a guess on my part.
