Thanks Wallygatorr1976. Thanks for the advice on the power strip. For the cables, the plugs were plugged in and elevated because the attached equipment was in racks. It was just the excess cable length that was on the floor. I just didn't know if that cable covering would absorb any water...

How do you record your Axe-Fx II in your DAW?

I have the analog outs of my Ultra and II XL+ go to the analog ins of a Lynx Aurora 16. I don't think to much about it. Ideally I would go digital to digital but I like to run my Reaper projects at 96kHz and I don't want to worry about SRC so I just go analog. Like I said I don't ever worry...

I don't know if it is widely used on the internet, but certainly in guitar forums when someone describes the difference between two tone sources in a percentage. "I'd say with the new firmware the Axe-FX can get me 90% of my (insert amp brand and model here)."

Funny... there was a quote in there that the original Axe-FX was updated 11 times. Where did 11 come from? A tip of the hat to SpinalTap? There were way more than 11 firmware updates to the standard/ultra back in the day. Maybe they counted "major' updates.

When you are in the I/O menu... and you are on the entry that says Preset Incr can you not use the value wheel to select a CC#? On the II using PEDAL I think it assumes you have some kind of switch not actually a pedal. Using the pedal is why I think you are getting presets 0 - 127 because...

I believe you would just assign a CC# to Preset Incr instead of PEDAL. Same for Preset Decr. Then assign the switches on the MIDI controller to send the CC#s you want. One switch for Incr and another for Decr. I am at work and not in front of the Axe and my MIDI controller so I can't give...

"Tone Matching" Preview

I am thinking we are still too early in the announcement but how many "profiles" can one store on the Axe-FX II? Or does one load an amp block as a starting point and run either the amp match or tone match process and the setting of the amp block are modified to reproduce what you are trying to...

I want Cliff to release profiles when feature is ready

It is interesting... to me it is kind of like you have two different spreadsheet applications both will work for your needs but perhaps operate under the hood differently or have slightly different feature sets but the core functionality is the same... but one runs on Mac and one runs on PC...

My recommendation is go to the John L Sayers forum that Nikki-K posted a link to. Do your homework first and come prepared. I found them very helpful. They essentially talked me out of spending a lot of money that would have ultimately not met my needs. They have some "read before your post"...

For those that are knocking Reaper's MIDI capability, have your tried the MIDI editor / capabilities in 4.x? As I understand it the leap from the 3 to 4 was pretty huge. If you have tried it in version 4 what do see as lacking?
