Axe-fx vs Tube Amps... my first experience.

IMHO the "best" thing would be to have the "blank canvas" potential of linear amplification and learn how to masterfully use the Axe-Fx.

Axe-fx vs Tube Amps... my first experience.

Although these are very valid points in one light, people are allowed to be picky, especially when they enjoy their hobbies and toys, and when technology generates more options and capabilities. Just because we all used basic cell phones not too long ago doesn't negate the value and fun of...

Poll: Improving the Fuzz - Fuzzface Model

Matman, Must have been great fun to work with Adrian! Very cool. And great tips that I'll try. I would however love it if Cliff added a faithful Fuzz Face model :) The unit just seems incomplete without it.

Poll: Improving the Fuzz - Fuzzface Model

I had the silicon MI Audio GI Fuzz and it was really good. Lots of control over the tone and the feel of the fuzz. Nicely priced too.

Poll: Improving the Fuzz - Fuzzface Model

Most days I prefer a fuzz going into a echorec into a slightly pushed clean tone, rathern than tube distortion. Think Floyd's Live at Pompeii, Echoes tone. IMHO one of the best guitar tones ever. Hoping Cliff chimes in here.

Poll: Improving the Fuzz - Fuzzface Model

The load control of the MI Audio fuzzes is fun: Copied from the manual... Load One of the unique features of the G.I. Fuzz is the load control. This control gives you precise control over just how much load your pickups see. For a traditional fuzz face sound, keep the load control set to...

Poll: Improving the Fuzz - Fuzzface Model

Maybe we should assemble a list of 2 things here that could help Cliff if he decides to put some time in to the fuzz. 1.) Which fuzzes stand-out as unique and deserving to be copied, and 2.) Which features/variables/knobs of the more creative fuzz pedals are helpful or just plain fun to have...

Poll: Improving the Fuzz - Fuzzface Model

I'm interested to know how many others would like it if Cliff enhanced the fuzz capabilities of the Axe, both in accuracy as well as adding some of the variables that some of the best fuzz people out there are adding. There are some great fuzzes out there. Analogman Sunface, Fuzz Factory, Devi...

Java how do we start a poll, for a yes/no vote on more fuzz research by Cliff? Thanks :)

    Fuzz

I don't know why Cliff doen't update the fuzz, as I think most people would appreciat it. The Axe has a little ways to go before it feels as satisfying as a really well made fuzz pedal. I get the feeling we may not see much work done on the fuzz algorithms and variables... maybe I'm wrong...

    Fuzz

Anyone know if Cliff is planning on putting some very detail oriented work into better fuzz modeling? There are some amazing fuzz boxes out there, and some of the features that are on some of these boxes are very cool. Fuzz Factory, Sunface, Devi Ever, etc. Hoping that one day the Axe will...

    Signal routing question

I am going to be sending my signal from the guitar via a 13-pin Roland connection and into a GR-33 floor effects unit (so you can play piano and horn and all that) and then want to connect the "Guitar Out" on the back of the unit to the input of the Axe-FX. Will the Axe see this signal just as...

Recto owners - Recto sims accurate?

"thats the thing, unless you can record both sources with analog equipment, and make an analog vinyl record, then your still comparing digital to digital. of course youd probably have to record the axe using a mic through a cab, just like the tube amp. are you getting where im coming from?"...

Recto owners - Recto sims accurate?

"no one will ever convince me that digital is better/can equal analog, my ear can tell the difference." Maybe, but I doubt it. If a pro recording engineer made 10 clips of a mic'd recto and let you hear them 1 time each, and assuming you agreed that, "Yep all 10 sound like I think they should...

    JCM800 Slow Bluesing (video)

Marin, I'd LOVE it if you dialed-in your Overtones to their best sound, and then tried to match that with the Axe, and post the clips. Don't tell us which is which :) You are a great player, and beyond that you can get tone from your hands. Can you give us a detailed opinion of the Axe VS...

    Axe vs. the "real" thing...

Guys relax I'm not that serious, nor am I a tube snob (I took my name off of a list I've been on for almost 2 years, and my name was almost up, to get the newest [amazing] London Power Studio tube amp because of Cliff and his amazing product), and also - you're forgetting something: The original...

    Axe vs. the "real" thing...

Ed, Listen this is simple. Just dial-in the best tone you can get from your Marshall and record to tape and then send all of us some copies? Can the Axe-FX fuzz match boutique fuzzes?

It'd be great if cliff would continue work on the fuzz emulations, A/B'd against some different real fuzz pedals, to nail them. Cliff, if you want some to do research with fuzzes, contact me, I have some of the best ones available, as well as originals.

Can the Axe-FX fuzz match boutique fuzzes?

To any of you guys that are accustomed to great fuzzes like Analogman's, etc., are you guys getting the same tones, volume knob interaction, and playing feel, as your fuzz pedals? The new drive block features cater to this, but how close is it, or is it better? Thanks! Tony

Java, A clip or two would be great. A/B'ing the silicon fuzz with full saturation and then rolling-off the volume slowly with different single coil pickups if possible would be a good demonstration of the modeling's abilities. You have some great fuzzes! I too collect the good ones, and just...

    Drive Request: FuzzFace

Wow how cool. So the drive block can "craft" a fuzz. I'd love to hear some samples. Anyone have a good analogman bc-108 or nkt-275, or an equally good (or original) fuzz to compare it to. Can it clean-up like a good fuzz will with, let's say, single coils through a Fender?
