    Not completly happy with 9.03

Yeah, i realised a long time ago that this forum is not the place for criticism, even if it is constructive... If you're not here to praise and worship then you'd better be wearing your flack jacket. It's a shame because so many improvements could be implemented if people were more welcoming of...

trying to make a patch that uses TWO amps..... but failing

You haven't provided much info on how you have set your preset up but essentially you need to run them in parallel (separate rows). If you run them in the same row (series) the result will invariably be quite muddy, undefined with a potential for uncontrollable feedback. So, run them alongside...

    I had enough!!!!!!!

My Motu 828 mk2 has never reliably updated firmware, in fact it once borked a GT6! I have used my Edirol UM1x for such tasks for a few years now and it has always been rock solid.

    G-system as AXE's midi board?

Theoretically you could place the G-Sytem in the FX Loop of the G-System (or vice versa) and all fx and presets will change simultaneously, however i never saw the need to use both. There are many things that the Liquid Foot with the Axe FX can do that the G-System can't such as step...

    Axe PC

Not quite sure what you mean there... For me, if the Axe PC is any where as good as my Ultra i'll be only too happy to hand over my "hard earned" to own it. Both products could quite easily co-exist in my life.

    G-system as AXE's midi board?

The G-System works well with the Axe FX, i used mine for about a year but it became too much to cart around for flights so i bought the Liquid Foot Junior. Basically i set it up with 4 presets along the bottom and a tap tempo. The middle switches were all used as I/A as were a couple of the top...

    Axe PC

Welcome to the enigma that is "fractal audio systems"... Great in almost every way except keeping their customers informed... This has always perplexed me greatly, the seeming "shroud of secrecy". I mean, if you don't want your customers to know about a product, don't announce it in the first...

    Thanks Cliff for 9.02

That's my point, there is no single unit that presents as a complete solution. I still feel there are some weakness in terms of some of the fx and functionality, but don't take my comment as a negative, the Axe FX is still the best all round unit available in the market today, but there are...

    Thanks Cliff for 9.02

How are the wahs on the AXE? Will they replace my real wah?

I can't do without my Morley Bad Horsie. I personally think the Wahs in the Axe lack richness and depth (for want of a better word). Axe-Fx and in-ear monitoring?

I absolutely LOVE my IEMs. I have a Shure PSM600 System with SCL5 Ear Buds which sound awesome! They are dual driver so i get crystal clear highs and tight bottom end that never breaks up. What are Tone Stack and What/ How to Use Crossover Blocks

Another example of using the crossover is applying modulation fx to a limited range of frequencies. For example, maybe your flanger is a little flubby in the bottom end so you can use the crossover to only flange the upper frequencies leaving the lower frequencies relatively untouched.

Boss Slow Gear and Slicer - can the Ax do these effects

Yeah, the ADSR is limited in its use for this type of effect. It is fine for slow bursts of swell but no good if you want to sustain the resulting note. Whilst i have no real use for a Slow Gear type of effect i have experimented and for best results have found the Envelope to work quite well...

Boss Slow Gear and Slicer - can the Ax do these effects

Both FX are replicable with the use of Modifers. - Slow Gear, attach an envelope or ADSR modifier to a volume block to get a swell effect. - Slicer, use one of the 2 LFO modifiers, also connected to a volume block, preferably at the end of the FX Chain. You could connect both LFOs and sync...

    Any reliability issues with Axe-Fx?

I've done about 250 odd shows in the 2 years i've had my Ultra and overall it's been pretty reliable... what is your usual delay stuff for solos?

I use a subtle amount of delay on pretty much all of my patches (presets) to give them a bit of "breath" but for soloing i also take a fairly simplistic approach. I do like to sync everything so i'll usually set it to dotted 8ths with a level of about 25 and feedback of about 20%

    2 cab preset question

Each Cab Block can be configured as Stereo and hence utilise 2 different cab IRs. So you can use 2 Cab Blocks in a preset giving you 4 cabs at your disposal.

Whats the best way to make my patches sound alive? not dull.

I agree, i've been using the Red Wirez IRs for a few weeks now and it was definitely money well spent. My dirty presets definitely have more life to them now. If you can't find a great sounding combination between the Axe FX Amps and the Red Wirez Cabs then there is something seriously wrong! ;)

How do I add custom IR's without Axe-Edit?

What trick am i missing with the Wah?

It's my opinion that the Wah in the Axe FX is probably one of the "less convincing" FX. Are you getting the most out of I/A assignments?

This thread is inspired by the recent "labelling" of pedal board thread.
