5150 + Mark IIC+ = Thrashy proggy metal goodness

For this tune I started with a Hetfield/Petrucci style Mark IIC+ rhythm sound. Then I blended in a 6160 Block using Amp 2 and it added back some nice crunchy mids. The Soundcloud compression kind of makes a mess of my mix. Here's a higher quality Dropbox link...

Dream Theater Awake Tone Matches: Lead & Rhythm patches

I used the very nifty app Jammit to learn this tune and then did tone matches of the iso guitar tracks. The rhythm one tone matched pretty well right away but the lead one (as usual with lead parts) took a bit of extra dialing in by ear. Not perfect but close enough to be a hell of a good time...
