You guys are mixing sth. up: Linear pots are infamously used in Bogners and are an odd choice. Audio taper however is one form of logarithmic taper and matches hearing perception which is also logarithmic. Edit: Turned out I was the one who mixed things up...at least I learned sth.

Wow. The 1960EMTV is pure british bliss. I use it with JS410 Crunch Or/Rd with bass 3.5, middle 4, treble 4.5. Your other free IR's are really great, too. Thanx so much for these, Andy!

Why isn't the 32Bit version installed automatically on a 32Bit system when updating fractal bot? Why is the 32Bit version not openly available on https://www.fractalaudio.com/fractal-bot/ ? Isn't this obvious? Or is the linked 32Bit version not official?

I did the suggested auto update from v2.11.0 on my Win32 Laptop and had to find out after updating that it's a 64Bit only version. I had to revert back which wasn't easy, because there's no official link to v2.11.0.

Vernon Reid's crazy rig ...

I thought I could replicate EVERY RIG with my AxeFxII. After having watched that video I think I have to cut that to EVERY REASONABLE RIG. I'm so happy not to have to take care of all those toys. For what Vernon does it makes sense, though.

FW10 has really F-d UP my Mesa Patches :( ... lot's of work or back to V6???

Concerning simeons PEQ settings: I tend to use a wider q(about .5 instead of .7) for the mid freq's (240,750,2200). This seems more musical to my ears, but that's totally a matter of taste.

After reading this thread I startet auditioning the Mesa amps, especially the recto models which I found to be very good. I've in particular fallen in love with the Recto Orange Vintage (switching power tybe type to pentode). Great amps for sure.

I'd rather buy a Kemper Profiling Amp than an Ultra. But I'd rather buy the AxeFxII than a Kemper. I owend the Ultra and the Kemper, but the AxeFxII is the ultimate guitar sound machine to me.

I think it really depends on how you define 'neutral'. You define it as uncolored miced sound. No mic preamp or additional equalizer coloration. I'd define it 'neutral' different: The ideal miced sound with balanced frequency response that sits pefect in a mix. I think that Ownhammer tends...

And don't forget the massive time saving factor. Few cables that can break, no dealing with ground issues or weird noises, fx loops, broken pedals or amps, no tubes that need a fix. No excessive ebay attendences trying to find the perfect amp/pedal, buying, reselling. Building complex fx setups...

Petrucci rhythm can't cut it.

Tip: Practice dialing in sounds this way: Get yourself some backing tracks and play to them using the same speaker or do it via headphones. Dial in the sound for maximum cut with those tips posted above. Then play with guitar only and listen closely.

A method that helps me alot when dealing with itching attack noises: I.e. when I use my Telecaster I add a filter block in the first spot to tame the pick attack. Settings for my particular guitar are: Type - peaking Freq 2601 Hz Q 3.9 Gain -11db Find the icepick frequency on your guitar...

V7 bug - tick tick noise corresponding to patch/global tempo

It's been there in previous firmware versions, because it's a hardware thing. It's the tap button led. Changing guitar vs axefx angle helps as well as more distance.

Yep, I nailed the tones in that clip with the 1960B V30 RW (no mic, no motor drive, lowcut 127Hz, hicut 12800Hz). Nice clean tones in there. And it sounds freaking fantastic with Tyler Grund's JBL E130 IR (http://www.tylergrund.com/axefx2.html).

My ultimate VAN HALEN patch/Brown sound [sound clip + patch]

Yes, great playing. Tone is in the ballpark though a bit dull. Add a eq at the end of the chain with a narrow 5 db boost at 6kHz and it's ultimate.

Struggling with "warmth" on mild gain sounds

Some possible ways I see: 1. Less treble. More bass. Mid boost. 2. Less 'definition'. 3. Turn down hires (and lores) on the 'SPKR' tab of the amp sim, because the VHT already does these boosts. 3. Turn off poweramp sim by setting damping to zero and tweak from there.

PLEASE HELP. I hate how my axe sounds!!!!

You have to initialize the amp block in your presets (double click on bypass). This is due to changes of the default values caused by the improved V6 modeling. Did you update to V6 factory presets?

The definition parameter in the amp block maybe is the direct solution. Turn that down and the pick attack goes away.

Is it possible to get an IR wav file back out of the AxeII somehow

AxeEdit: AxeManage -> User Cabs -> Right click on cab you want to export -> Export Axe-o-matic: Convert Files -> Input Axe II .syx / Output .wav files -> Open Files and convert input to output -> choose file Done

What brand of cable are you using for guitar to Axe?

I use Sommer cable Spirit XXL. Very very durable. Low capacitance so the high resonance peak of my single coil guitars stay where it should be.
